What do you do with a watermelon, chili pepper and pineapple sausage? - What would you do with a watermelon, chili pepper, pineapple sausage, purple carrots and a sweet potato? That was a challenge for Chef Natasha Cline, not us. Natasha created a marinade/reduction sauce with the watermelon juice, chili and honey. The reduction sauce was served under chunks of sausage and caramelized carrots and sweet potato. It was delectable!

Architecture, history, and great food -- this is a winner - With a passion for good food and learning the culture of a city, this tour really appealed to me. And it didn't disappoint. We started out by each participant (max of 12) selecting an ingredient from a local farm stand. Chef Natasha took our selections (adding her own ingredients as well) and left to create a three-course lunch. While she was off doing her magic, the tour of that area of Charleston began with our tour guide Alice. Alice was an excellent guide -- friendly, warm, knowledgeable. She spoke about the history of the area, the major influence of the people who were enslaved on food and even agriculture. It's a tricky thing to discuss slavery in the south, but Alice IMHO managed to both honor the people brought to America in chains, without making anyone south of the Mason Dixon line feel attacked. I'm a northerner so you may want to take that into account. The lunch was delicious and if I had the time I would have gone back to Natasha's restaurant Uncorked Charleston. If wine is your thing, there's a wine bar that was most intriguing.

Delectable lunch tour - We were having trouble finding a parking spot - not familiar with Charleston parking rules made it harder for us to find a place so we barely made it in time at 11am. The guide Amelia was kind enough to wait for us and told us where to park once the walking tour part was over. The walking tour was very informative. Enjoyed the stops and highlights. Once we arrived at Uncorked, we were welcomed by the chef and servers. We were very impressed with the wine selections - the best 2 glasses of wines I ever tasted! The lunch prepared by chef Natasha was out of the world, so delicious! I cant get over the flavor in the sauce she made. Every dish was prepared so elegantly and with so much thoughts into it. Definitely will recommend to others and do it again if we return.
