  • Sandlapper Water Tours - The Palmetto is a 45-foot US Coast Guard Certified powered catamaran that accommodates up to 49 passengers. All tours begin and end at the Charleston Maritime Center, located at 10 Wharfside Street, just half a block from the SC Aquarium in Downtown Charleston. We request that all guests arrive 30 minutes before departure and check in at our blue and white ticket booth on the far left dock when facing the water. Due to ongoing construction, parking is not available at the Charleston Maritime Center. However, off-street parking is accessible, and a city parking garage is nearby the Aquarium. Clean restrooms are available at the Maritime Center, and there is also a bathroom on board. Soft drinks, water, beer, wine, and prepackaged snacks are available for purchase on board.

Once on board and seated, our mate will provide a brief safety briefing before we depart from the dock. Then, we invite you to relax and enjoy an evening cruise along Charleston’s waterways. Charleston’s forts, houses, and ships are central to many of the South’s most famous ghost stories. Join us to explore sites that are inaccessible by foot. Feel the cool breeze of Charleston Harbor and listen to tales of lost fortunes, pirate ships, and tragic deaths as you ride Charleston’s dark waves. Experience the captivating horror brought by the Holy City’s pirates, wars, and storms, both past and present.

Worth every penny!! - Chase was the best narrator and made our tour awesome. Great story teller, great personality, and made sure we were all safe throughout the night! Appreciated the accompanying photos she showed us and the many laughs! Captain Mike on the other hand…just kidding they were a great duo and made for a wonderful night of fun and entertainment my family and me. As locals sometimes we forget to stop and just enjoy our beautiful city!!

Ghostly stories - It was a very nice cruise. Lee was fantastic. Her stories were interesting and informative. I do think if the trip occurred a little earlier, like dusk it would have been better, because you would have been able to see the places she was talking about more clearly. It was a bit tooo dark to see them well.

Beautiful, comfortable setting for mild shivers - Although the ghost stories were fun, historically interesting, and told with enthusiasm and verve, the most enjoyable part of the tour was just being out in the harbor after dark with a cool breeze in our faces and the lights of Charleston around us. The captain and crew were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We also appreciated being able to buy wine and soft drinks aboard.

Being on a boat at night... - Being on a boat at night with a nice breeze was enjoyable and scenic. The stories were interesting. The things we didn’t enjoy, rushing to get there at least 30 min in advance ( this didn’t seem to be necessary), the seating on the boat (quite uncomfortable) and the emphasis on tipping at the end. All in all still a good experience.
