Well worth the time and money! - This was a really great introduction to Charleston. We had a "guide in training" along, he spoke while another guide actually "drove". His presentation wasn't as polished as it no doubt will be in another month, but he conveyed a lot of information! I suspect this was a bonus, as he seemed quite determined not to leave anything out. Two caveats: Although we booked in advance with Charleston Carriage Works, and "checked in" at that location, we were sent down the street to Palmetto Carriage Works for the actual tour. Additionally, although the information here on Trip Advisor states there would be a max of 10 participants in the tour (something that distinguished this listing from the others I looked at) there were actually 16. Nevertheless the ride was comfortable and we were able to hear what the guide said without difficulty

Well worth the cost - We had 2 drivers, one of whom was in training. Thus his presentation was perhaps less polished than in might have been, but he passed along a lot of detail about what we were seeing and the history of Charleston (we enjoyed this so much that my daughter wanted to do it again-- the difference in how much information we were given by the other guide was startling). He also told us about the horses which was a nice touch. The ride was quite comfortable. We had arranged to sit up front as half of our party is hard of hearing; none of us had any difficulty hearing or understanding but I can't speak for what it might be like toward the back. I would note that although we booked with Charleston Carriage works, when we arrived at the starting area the lady who checked us sent us down the street to Palmetto Carriage Works

Misty and Morty - Unfortunately we did not get the tour guides name but she was from Ohio. She was very knowledgeable, added her own twist and experiences to the tour. We also found it to be interesting on the guides routes are chosen by a bingo type system.

Perfect introduction to Charleston - An absolutely perfect introduction to Charleston. Our guide and our horse, Trevor, were wonderful! Everyone we encountered was so friendly and welcoming. It was also very obvious that the horses are extremely well taken care of.

Ok - Traffic was very bad we had to change our time and even then we could not make it. We rented a beach house in Kiawah . We paid in full and lost it all

Beware of Front Seat! - This tour is informative, but they need to not try to maximize people on the ride; there isn't enough room, and they squeeze in a # of people. Also, the seating by the carriage driver is not for passengers and should be left open. The driver was constantly sweating and dripping on my daughter, along with spitting every now and then as he narrated. Not his intention, of course, but the space by the driver should not be for seating passengers.
