Great food and great tour guide - Gerard was our guide. It was nice to have him take the time and discuss the islands past and present. We learned a lot about the island and their people. The food stops were incredible. First stop was E's Garden Tea House. The owner provided us with full size bite. The cod quiche was amazing along with the flavors of the tea and cake. The second stop was Gladys. The small bites were just enough to make you want more. The food and art work was amazing. From there we went to the Ice Cream Shop at the Waterfront for their pate pies. I really enjoyed the chicken. I typically enjoy beef but the texture of the chicken had a really good chew and flavor. The last stop was the Banana Split Ice Cream shop. The owner made amazing pastries. She was so friendly. We asked our tour guide for other recommendations for dining he suggested Amalfie, Prime, Oceana, and Blue 11. We ate at all of them and they were all good.

Hidden History and Delicious Sampling Of STT - Gerard is a superb and knowledgeable guide, answered all of our questions and filled in a lot of gaps in our understanding of the local history. Food stops were truly representative and he included a lot of history of the buildings and restuarant operators. Great introduction to local cuisine and we left with half a dozen other things to go explore on our own

Fantastic and Informative - Our guide Gerard was very knowledgeable and told us so many interesting things. It was nice to sample some foods you normally wouldn't order on your own and get a taste of local flavor. My only complaint is the first stop was extremely slow even though they knew we were coming. It delayed the rest of our timing. But that was in no way our guides fault!

A Fun Caribbean Food Tasting and Cultural Walking Tour in St Thomas! - A Fun Caribbean Food Tasting and Cultural Walking Tour! We had a fabulous time on the St Thomas Food Tasting Tour. Jane was a great tour guide. She knew a lot of the history and made it really interesting. We learned about the history of Fort Christian, built in the late 1600s and protected the island as a fort and later it served as a police center, government center and prison. We walked through Emancipation Park and learned its significance. We also learned about the architecture of the many buildings. Some used ballast stone from the incoming ships. The old stone buildings are so unique as they also quarried stone from the ground and when building faced hardship due to a severe drought the builders used molasses into the mortar to bind stones together. We stopped at E's Tea and enjoyed hibiscus & passion fruit tea along with a tasting of salt fish and other treats. We learned about the different teas. We stopped by the My Brother's Workshop Bakery for some delicious rum cake! The workshop offers vocational training for youths to help them get an education and learn a trade. It was fun walking the interesting back streets of Charlotte Amalie and Jane was a great guide getting us through narrow streets and traffic! We also stopped by Glady's Cafe for an array of Caribbean food- Plantains, conch fritters and spicey sauce. Later we enjoyed locals making chicken empanades and then next stop we had root beer floats with Cruzan rum! It was fun getting to try new foods and learn about the history of St Thomas. It is remarkable how the island has come back after the devastating hurricanes Irma & Marie. It has taken time for these businesses to come back and we were happy to contribute to the success of their businesses in a small way. I highly recommend this fun tour.
