NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY (but participants must weigh at least 100 lbs. and can’t be expecting a baby). We thoroughly and carefully train each guest BEFORE the 1.5 tour begins. It’s FUN and EASY! Follow your local guide as you glide throughout the city, viewing our unique architecture, art, parks, and historic spaces. Our city has a fascinating history, and you can see it all UP CLOSE on a Segway! Choose either a 1.5- hr or 2-hour ride (the longer tour has limited availability). This is a GREAT, POPULAR tour of Uptown Charlotte, however we are often unable to accommodate guests who arrive late. PROMPT ARRIVAL IS A MUST FOR THIS TOUR. THANK YOU!!!
- MUST BE ON TIME FOR THIS TOUR! Arrive 30-45 min. before start time for training!!!
- Minimum suggested age is 12 years old, but MUST weigh at least 100 lbs.
- For participants under 18, they must be with a parent or responsible party 21 yrs or older and have a signed waiver from a parent
- Minimum weight is 100lbs so the Segway computer can respond to your movement.
- Maximum weight is 280lbs.
- Dress code: Preferably wear comfortable closed toe shoes (though not required), weather appropriate layers, and no hats under helmets. Gloves recommended on cold days
- No pregnant travelers are allowed
- NOT recommended for those who might struggle in VERY HOT weather.
- NOT ALLOWED FOR PREGNANT PARTICIPANTS!
- NOT recommended for those who’ve had somewhat recent hip or knee replacements
- NOT recommended for those with unpredictable blood sugar issues.
- Participants must be able to stand for 1.5 -2 hrs and be able to climb stairs unaided.

Segways are cool! - Our tour guide, James, was a plethora of knowledge and serves as a great ambassador for not only the Segway tour company, but for the City of Charlotte as well. So many interesting places, the historical beauty of the architecture, and the ease of seeing it and hearing about while riding a Segway. Well done, James!

Tour Guide James - James was an absolute delight. His knowledge about Charlotte 's history was phenomenal. His personality wonderful. If we ever return to Charlotte, we will definitely do this again. Your company is lucky to have such a valuable employee in James. He's a keeper.

Uptown Segway tour with Charlotte NC Tours - The uptown Segway tour with Charlotte NC was an amazing experience and the highlight of my visit to Charlotte NC. Everyone was great to deal with. Carol was extremely responsive and detail oriented. Isaiah our tour guide was a wealth of information. He ensured our safety and made the entire experience fun. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the history and beauty of Charlotte NC.

Fun way to see a beautiful city! - I highly recommend this tour to anyone who has never been to this beautiful city. The city is gorgeous and riding the segway was a lot of fun. Rod was a wonderful tour guide and such a kind gentleman. This was the highlight of my week!

Charlotte Segway tour - see more! - My guide, Rod, made it easy to learn how to ride a Segway - my first time and it was a blast! Rod was very knowledgeable and engaging, describing the city and its historical landmarks. The tour was well laid out and provided a fun and efficient way to see the city. I learned many interesting things about Charlotte which is exactly what I was looking for — highly recommend!

Best way to see uptown Charlotte! - The tour was fun and informative. Our guide Rod was terrific! He was knowledgeable and also quite funny. We learned a great deal about Charlotte and its rich history.

Interesting, fun and accommodating - Isaiah did a great job. I really appreciated his passion for Charlotte’s history and learned a lot of interesting facts about the area I would have never known otherwise. Afterwards I walked around the city with a different lens. I was the only person on my tour and he was also very patient and accommodating to my slower pace on the Segway. Would definitely recommend this tour!

Yes, Segways are the Way to Go in Charlotte! - Our first visit to Charlotte was unexpectedly highlighted by this Segway tour! We were a group of three couples in our 50s and 60s, all new to Segways and a bit apprehensive. However, Ron and James provided patient and thorough individual training, even though the training site was on a sloped sidewalk with no flat areas nearby. When one of us felt uneasy, James graciously offered to pull them along for the tour so they wouldn’t miss out. Wow. It took us all 5-10 minutes to get comfortable on the Segways, and then we all had a blast.
We cover a little over two miles, exploring all four wards of Charlotte, enjoying its community parks, historic homes, financial district, and sports complexes. James was an engaging guide, offering helpful tips for our visit. This unique experience was worth every penny and made us fans of Segways. We’re so impressed with both the tour company and the beautiful city of Charlotte. I’ll definitely seek out Segway tours on future trips! Five Stars for James!
