• Dark View Falls - We will be making our way towards the leeward side of the island. Our 1st stop would be at the Dark View Falls. Dark View Falls are two spectacular waterfalls, one above the other, cascading down high cliff faces and plunging into natural pools.

Our second and final stop before we head back to pickup point will be Wallilabou Bay where the opening scenes of the first movie of The Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of The Black Pearl were filmed. It is one of the most visited sites for cruise ship passengers.

Dark View Falls boast twin cascades situated one atop the other, tumbling from lofty cliffs into welcoming pools below. These waterfalls provide a year-round display fed by a Richmond River tributary, nestled on the island’s Leeward side at heights of 110 and 229 feet above the sea level. Visitors can enjoy a brief, simple trek from the parking lot through a tropical rainforest to reach the falls, crossing the Richmond River by choosing a bamboo or a traditional bridge.

The cinematic location for the Pirates of the Caribbean film series is found at Wallilabou Bay. Serving as a key filming site for the trilogy’s initial three films, it was artistically reimagined as Port Royal, a thriving port city and base for the British Royal Navy. The bay is also renowned for being the backdrop where audiences first meet the enigmatic Captain Jack.
