The day trip begins at 8am from Auckland City, arriving at Waitomo Cave by 11am. The travel time each way is 3 hours, including a 15-minute stop for refreshments, covering a distance of 190kms. This scenic road trip takes you through South Auckland and Waikato, showcasing some of New Zealand’s most beautiful landscapes. You will have 2 hours to explore Waitomo Cave, with the most popular attraction being the Waitomo Glowworm Cave. This cave is renowned as the best Glowworm cave in New Zealand, offering an unforgettable experience. Allocate 1 hour for the Waitomo Glowworm Cave tour and another hour for souvenir shopping and refreshments.

The cave tour is a guided experience provided by the knowledgeable Waitomo Glowworm tour guides.
