Exciting day hike to EXPERIENCE the Great Wall - This trip was fun and exciting for my teenage daughter and I. We request an early start at 7:30am, and our tour guide May showed up at the hotel with the driver on time. It took about 2.5 hour of driving to reach that section of the Great Wall. May is knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information and interesting stories about the Great Wall during the drive. May is extremely fit, and she adjusted her pace to allow us time to appreciate the breathtaking views and the historical significance of the towers and the wall. Compared to the more touristy and crowded BaDaLin or MuTianYu sections of the Great Wall, Jinshanling Great Wall is very quiet and has no crowd. We bumped into several hikers along the way, but a lot of the time we are the only group on the wall. The views are spectacular and inspiring. The hike is a bit challenging for several steep sections of the wall and initial ascent to the first tower, but I would rate it as moderate overall. I highly recommend this tour. It is a pretty long day with the commuting and hiking, and a relaxed lunch after the hike, but well worth the time. Thank you May and Catherine!

Day tour of Jinshanling Section of The Great Wall - I truly enjoyed this tour. Angel led the way again. She is a real trooper. They say you are a Hero if you can climb up to and walk The Great Wall. She does it all the time, so that tells you great she is! I had been to Mutianyu, but I feel like this section was much better. The first half of the wall was in original state and felt more Authentic. The second half had been remodeled. The views were fantastic. It was the perfect day. We only saw maybe 50 people in total. If you are looking for a wall visit that is not super busy like Badaling and some of the others, this is place to go. Be warned though, there are some steep climbs. You're the best Angel!

We had a great time at the Great Wall and the tour’s timing was great! - We were a small group (4) and had an amazing time! The tour’s schedule was very flexible to our needs and schedule, and the driver Lu Xiaolong was super nice. We recommend the experience of this section of the wall, as it is less crowded and very beautiful.

Bucket list experience! - This was a bucket list experience! From pick-up to drop-off, we couldn't have asked for a better day. Sonia, our guide, met us at our hotel lobby, and during the two-hour drive to the Wall, she answered every question and provided detailed information on Chinese history. We hiked 6 km along a beautiful and uncrowded stretch of wall that included both original and re-built sections. There were very few people and the vistas were amazing. After our hike, we experienced a delicious and satisfying lunch that Sonia had arranged at a local home-stay before heading back to Beijing. This was our favorite experience on our ten-day trip to Hong Kong and Beijing. I highly recommend it and Sonia as a guide.

Jingshanling Great Wall- worth the drive! - If you are looking for a tour of the Great Wall without mobs of people this is the one for you! Don’t go to the touristy locations that include slides and a billion vendors- GO HERE. We went the second week in May after the holiday and found ourselves alone. We arrived at 9:00 am. Catherine Lu tours provided a great driver. He arrived early at the hotel- gave us water, made sure we got in the gate and was waiting with a cool vehicle when we were done. Absolutely worth the drive. We used Catherine Lu tours for several sites as we were able to customize anything and the prices were very good. We are from the US and she made us feel at home from the start. She knew about my flight cancelation before we did and contacted me right away. If you just want a driver, which is what we used for this particular tour, or a driver and a guide, contact Catherine Lu Tours. You won’t regret it.

An am amazing experience! - We went for a very nice hike at Jingshaling - a beautiful and peaceful place for walking on the Great Wall. Almost a private walk with our nice guide Justin. It was an amazing experience and totally awesome. Justin explained us everything and took us for a very delicious original Chinese lunch afterwards. It was one of the best experiences!

Beautiful day at the Great Wall of China - We had agreed to be transported to the wall and then back to the hotel in Beijing. At our request, we were picked up at the Summer Palace instead of the hotel and then drove to the wall. Here we were told exactly which route we should take, where the most beautiful sunset would be and where we would be picked up again. At our request, we were on the wall without a guide. At the sunset spot, our driver then came up to the wall to take some nice group photos of us. On the way back, he recommended a good and inexpensive little restaurant and waited until we had eaten. After eating, we drove back to the hotel, where he stopped again to show us the wall illuminated at night. All in all, it was an incredibly beautiful day with nothing to complain about. I would therefore highly recommend doing this tour with this operator. Many thanks to the team for the great organization.
