• Giant Panda Breeding Research Base (Xiongmao Jidi) - For guests opting for the Chengdu Panda Base:

7:00 am: The tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and head to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding (approximately a 30-40 minute drive).
9:00 am: Arrive at the base and begin your guided tour.
Visit the panda enclosures, panda nursery, and conservation education center.
Watch the pandas being fed and playing during the morning feeding session.

Continue your tour by exploring the red panda enclosure and learning about conservation efforts.
Return to your hotel and enjoy a relaxing time.

• Dujiangyan Panda Base - Guests can visit the Dujiangyan Panda Center:

7:20 am: Pick up from your hotel for a 1.5-hour drive to the Dujiangyan Panda Base. Guests have the option to visit the Dujiangyan Panda Center to avoid crowds and see wild pandas in their natural habitat on the mountainside. Observe 30 pandas and their babies living a natural lifestyle in the forest. You are guaranteed to catch the pandas during their breakfast time, seeing them active and enjoying their meal outdoors. You can get as close to the pandas as possible.

Guests have the option to become a panda volunteer (donation of 900 CNY per person). This money helps pandas return to the wild, and you will receive a certificate and donation gifts.

Program:
10:00 am - 12:00 pm: Smash bamboo for the pandas, visit the rest of the 30 pandas, and make cakes for them.
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm: Lunch at the panda center and make cakes for the pandas.
2:00 pm: Receive your panda donation certificate and return to Chengdu (you also have the option to visit the old Kungfu Panda town).

Why choose the Dujiangyan Panda Center? Here, you can see happy pandas in their natural habitat, ensuring you witness them actively eating their morning food while avoiding the tourist crowds.

This tour offers two different options:

1. Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Center: This center is more like a zoo with artificial environments. The pandas here are often inactive and spend most of their time sleeping. They have lost many of their natural behaviors, and the place is usually crowded with tourists.

2. Dujiangyan Panda Center: Located about 1.5 hours’ drive from the city, near Mt. Qingcheng, this center offers a natural habitat for the pandas. You can skip the crowded tourist spots and enjoy a peaceful environment where active pandas eat bamboo sticks.

Additionally, there is an optional panda volunteer program (requires a 900 CNY donation per person). Volunteers work with the Panda Center staff to prepare panda food, such as making panda cakes and smashing bamboo. You can also observe pandas having lunch up close (photography is not allowed during this part). At the end of the program, you will receive a donation certificate and panda-themed gifts.
