As a volunteer, you can work as a keeper to make food for them and sweep the leftovers and feces out and Observing the keepers feeding the pandas up close. It is a good chance for you to observe their living habits and physical features. Besides giant pandas, you can also see red pandas and many other cute animals here.
- Dujiangyan City - With a maximum of 60 volunteers allowed, it’s advisable to book your ticket in advance. Your guide and driver will pick you up around 7:30 AM and take you to the panda base (approximately 1.5 hours). Upon arrival, sign up and put on work clothes and gloves. The experienced keepers will instruct you on your tasks, and your tour guide will be with you throughout the day.
9:00 AM: Preparation
10:00 AM: Observe the keepers feeding the pandas up close, including cleaning enclosures, sweeping out leftovers and feces, and adding fresh bamboo.
11:30 AM: Visit other enclosures
Explore the base and see more giant pandas and red pandas. Make panda cakes.
12:30 PM: Lunch break
1:30 PM: Watch a panda documentary
2:00 PM: Receive a certificate
After a full day of work, you will receive a certificate to commemorate the unforgettable experience. Your guide and driver will then escort you back to Chengdu.
(Volunteering spots are limited. We will assist guests in joining the program at other panda bases if the Dujiangyan Panda Base is unavailable.)
