During this 4-5 hour unique cooking workshop, you’ll visit an authentic local spice market, engaging in fun challenges while learning about various Sichuan spices and ingredients that will be used in the subsequent cooking class. The class takes place at Chilli Cool Workshop, located in the city center. You’ll be welcomed with local Sichuan tea, a customary gesture for friends and visitors. A professional chef will then guide you through the cooking process in a cozy kitchen. Finally, you’ll savor the dishes you’ve prepared, accompanied by beers or beverages. This informative, interesting, and fun class promises to be an unforgettable experience.

Great experience learning about and cooking Sichuan food - We had a really great time with Lance - first at the Spice Market and later cooking. Good introduction to the spices and ingredients used in Sichuan cooking. Followed by cooking a great meal with a very capable chef. The english was also really good making it an instructive experience.
Definitely one of our top experiences in China.

Fun tour and great food! - We really enjoyed this tour and cooking class with Lance! He answered all our questions while guiding us through the market and translated for us with the chef who taught us how to make some delicious sichuan dishes! Definitely recommend

An excellent, accommodating, and delicious experience with locals - I had such a great time at this cooking class where every effort was made to make me feel comfortable and ensure I was getting the most out of the experience. It was only me and 1 other person and it was a great bonding experience for us as well as the chefs and helpers.
The food tasted amazing and it was the perfect balance of teaching to doing. I would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone coming to Chengdu.

Learn from Chengdu’s Celebrity Chef - A truly fun and educational cooking experience. Lance is an excellent guide and translator which opens the door to great interaction with Lee the Celebrity Chef. She is masterful and so eager to share her skills and knowledge. The setting is beautiful and comfortable, and the market place tour amazing. The whole experience adds up to a great time and good eats. I’m already looking forward to my next visit !

Market visit and spicy cooking - The cooking class didn't only revolve around the cooking itself which was great but started with a market visit, buying groceries and spices and then heading towards the kitchen. It was a great day experience and the side talks about local life made it really memorable for me.

Worth the Wait in Every Sense - It took a while to get this book, but I truly loved everything about this tour. Jerry was great and personable. I loved going around a real Chinese market learning how the local people pick and choose their food. I even got to try my hand at making dumplings (I was very good 2 out of 10 times). From there we went to the kitchen where I met Auntie Lee (Chef Lee). She was wonderful and with Jerry translating I was able to make a good mapu tofu and an excellent twice cooked pork and pretty darn nice cucumber salad. I couldn't recommend this tour enough and I hope more people give it a try.

An excellent and fun experience! - The cooking class with Jerry and Leo is a perfect start in order to dive into Sichuan cuisine. After getting a detailed tour through the local market and being given the option to try anything you are interested in, the cooking class gives you a really good idea on how to approach cooking sichuan style dishes. The dishes taste delicious and being guided by Leo and Jerry is not only very informative but also a lot of fun. In addition Jerry is extremely helpful in getting you setup in Chengdu in order to check out some great spots for authentic dishes. We really enjoyed his company very much!

Amazing spice market and cookiong experience - The spice market was amazing. We even got to try our hands at making our own chaoshou dumplings. Went to a Baiju shop to sample various types nad purchased some to bring home for friends to try. The cooking class was eqully awesome. Our guide Lance was great. He interacted with us the whole time he was translating directions from our instructor. Very enjoyable experience.
