We’ll visit Dujiangyan, the oldest surviving irrigation system in the world. Originally constructed 2000 years ago by the State of Qin as an irrigation and flood control project, it is still in use today.
During the Warring States period, people who lived along the banks of the Min River were plagued by annual flooding, after the system was finished, no more floods occurred. The irrigation made Sichuan the most productive agricultural place in China.
Mount Qingcheng, which is considered one of the birthplaces of Taoism and one of the most important Taoist religious sites in China. The mountain is known for its abundant cultural relics and historical sites. The scenic area is tranquil and serene, earning it the reputation of being called “Qingcheng, the Most Secluded Place in the World.”
