Wonderful time and well worth it - Ocean was a terrific guide; we ate and ate and ate some more and it was fabulous - ending with a Hot Pot dinner. I can wholeheartedly recommend this tour.

Excellent good tour - The food was incredible as Ocean made sure we had a great time. She took us around the Wenshu temple in addition to the food tour.

Chengdu Food Tour - Ocean took us on a wonderful tour around Chengdu. All the stops were delicious and well thought out. She also was helpful to explain all the complexities of the foods as well as general questions about Chengdu and China. Would highly recommend this tour.

Excellent Back Alley Foodie Tour - Lance, our guide, was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and, focussed on our enjoyment. The tour was relaxed; the food selections were very good; the vendors selected were really good … and … we were absolutely full by the end of the tour. Says it all really … Recommended!

Tasty and lots of fun - Really glad that such a tour is provided in Chengdu. We had a great time during the tour. Lance, our tour guide brought us to places where there are really delicious food provided. I would not have found those places by my own and maybe would not have dared trying to find out that it was really tasty. The hot pot finally was at a very charming hot pot restaurant. Without a rush we had time to celebrate the day and had a good time. Thank you Lance!

Fantastic half day with Lance - We had a fantastic back alley tour with Lance today. On top of being very knowledgeable, Lance was very accommodating and caring for all parties in our small group. I will definitely recommend it if you need any way to spend half a day and discover Chengdu out of the beaten path. We always join food tour all over the world and this one was fantastic.

Had a Chili Cool Time! - We had a blast on this tour with our guide Lance. He spoke excellent English and taught us a bunch about modern Chinese culture in Chengdu.
AND THE FOOD!
It was incredible. We tried so many things we would never have. We tend to stay away from street food during our travels but this opened us up to so many options. Eating fresh spring rolls in the middle of an active market and splitting open a rabbit head for the brain are experiences I'll never forget. Our personal favorites were the guo kui (meat pastry/pita) and the sweet water noodles.
We went on the food tour at the beginning of our trip to Chengdu and it made us much more confident ordering hotpot and other food throughout the trip. We also got much very comfortable with the spiciness we should be ordering (lots of numbing spice).
We highly recommend this!

Come with an empty stomachdown and prepare to feast! - Lance our guide was really friendly and warm. This was just a small tour of four of us, with Lance being very easy to talk to and informative about the food and China life. His English was really good too.
We ate so much, I couldn't possibly list them all. This included noodles, rabbit head, stuffed pancakes, spring rolls and some sweet things, concluding with a traditional hot pot dinner. We also visited a tearoom and a market. Of course if there's something you're not comfortable eating, it isn't a problem - but it is a Sichaun food tour after all!
Included in the price were refreshments like water, tissues and a bus to one of the stops. Everything else was walking.
A few tips: bring some wet wipes and hand sanitizer, as some of the foods, as delicious as they are, can be a bit greasy and of course spicy (and combined with the humid weather, you'll feel like you'll need a hot shower at the end).
Also, a small tip for foreigners eating Chengdu's famous spicy Sichaun food... I got a little ill two days after the tour. Nothing serious, but I think it was just travellers flu that passed after a day. Can't say it had anything to do with the hygiene of where we stopped. Tip: Don't get cocky and know your limits when it comes to the spice and how much of it you will consume when in Chengdu, as food here is likely more potent than Sichaun food elsewhere in the world. Also, bring Imodium or equivalent with you for your trip - it is available in pharmacies but i found some to be a bit tricky to deal with, even when I had the Chinese translation for it written down. Perhaps don't plan the food tour the day before a big tour in case you are suffering the next day.

Awesome Food Tour - Growing up in a Chinese household and eating a lot of Sichuan food, I was really curious how this food tour would be. Lance was an awesome tour guide and he showed us all the best eats in Chengdu. The food tour felt really authentic as we walked through various alleys and ate with the locals. Overall, I would recommend this tour!

Chengdu Delicious Foodie Tour - We spent a delicious afternoon with Lance from Chilli Food Tours. We tried many different foods as well as visiting a local market, walking thru parks and quiet back streets and taking time out in an authentic tea house. The hot pot dinner was great to finish on with a few cold beers. Lance is a delight. Very friendly, well organised & knowledgeable. We thoroughly recommend this tour - great value & full of delicious tastes. Well done Lance thank you for such a great informative afternoon.
