Mahabalipuram - Upon checking into our hotel in Mahabalipuram, we will take the opportunity to refresh and then gather for lunch, a perfect time to bond with fellow adventurers. Mahabalipuram, known for its rich history and stunning architecture, offers a plethora of sights to explore. Post-lunch, our expedition takes a cultural dive as we set out to explore the ancient temples that dot this UNESCO World Heritage site. These architectural marvels, steeped in history, provide a glimpse into the artistic and spiritual legacy of the region.

Mahabalipuram - We start the day early after breakfast and ride towards Mahabalipuram, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient temples and rock-cut sculptures.
Explore the temples and beaches of Mahabalipuram, including the famous Shore Temple, Pancha Rathas, and the Krishna’s Butterball. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Mahabalipuram.
Matrimandir - Here, we’ll visit the iconic Matrimandir, a symbol of universal harmony, offering a moment of peace and introspection amidst its golden dome.
Pondicherry to Thanjavur – Journey into the Chola Dynasty’s Heartland
Pondicherry - After breakfast, we ride towards Pondicherry, a former French colony that still retains its French charm – it is like a whole another world within a city!
Check out the Aurobindo Ashram, Auroville, the beaches of Pondicherry, and the French Quarter, which is filled with quaint cafes and boutiques. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Pondicherry.
Thanjavur - The third day of our journey marked the beginning of an exhilarating adventure on Motorbike, as we set off from the charming coastal town of Pondicherry towards the historic city of Thanjavur. Spanning approximately 180 KM, this route promised not only a test of endurance but also an intimate encounter with the diverse landscapes and cultural heritage that south India has to offer.
The journey to Thanjavur is not just a mere transition from one city to another; it is a passage through time and tradition. As we progressed, the road unfolded through verdant countryside, dotted with quaint villages, paddy fields, and palm groves, offering glimpses into the rural life that forms the backbone of Tamil Nadu.
This motorbike ride was not just a segment of our journey but a memorable experience that allowed us to immerse ourselves in the beauty and heritage of South India.
Thanjavur to Madurai – Traversing the Temporal and Spiritual Tapestry of Tamil Nadu
Madurai - With our spirits enriched by the visit, we mounted our motorbikes, ready to ride towards Madurai, another gem in the crown of Tamil Nadu’s historical and cultural legacy. The journey was a blend of scenic beauty and rural charm, as we passed through lush landscapes, agricultural fields, and small villages, each telling a story of their own.
Madurai to Kodaikanal – A Journey from Divine Temples to Misty Hills
Madurai - After enjoying local cuisine for breakfast, we hit the road once again. This day, we ride towards Madurai, a city known for its rich cultural heritage and ancient temples. After reaching the city, check in to the hotel and take some time to relax.
Later, we visit the Meenakshi Amman Temple, one of the most popular temples in the region, not just for devotees but also tourists that admire its architecture. We also go to the Thirumalai Nayak Palace, and other local attractions.

Guided Tour of Majestic Meenakshi Temple emple - The fifth day of our adventure began with the warm Madurai sun peeking through our curtains, promising a day filled with awe and exploration. After a hearty breakfast, we set out to visit the crown jewel of Madurai – The Meenakshi Temple. This architectural marvel, steeped in history and devotion, left us spellbound with its intricate carvings, towering gopurams, and the vibrant life pulsating through its corridors. The temple’s spiritual aura was a profound reminder of India’s rich cultural tapestry.
Kodaikanal - The next leg of our journey took us on a scenic ride towards Kodaikanal, a serene hill station cradled in the Palani Hills. Spanning a distance of 115 KM, the road unwound through lush landscapes, offering glimpses of the countryside’s tranquil beauty. The ascent to Kodaikanal was a refreshing transition from the plains to the cool embrace of the hills. As we neared our destination, the air grew crisp, and the vistas of mist-covered valleys and cascading waterfalls welcomed us into the heart of nature’s splendour.
Kodaikanal to Munnar – A Ride Through the Clouds
Munnar - After breakfast, ride towards Munnar, a well-known hill station, famous for its tea plantations, scenic beauty, and wildlife reserves. Spend the day exploring the tea gardens, trekking through the hills, and visiting the local markets.

Day 7 Munnar Local
Munnar - After breakfast, take some time to relax before we set out to visit some of the other attractions of this gorgeous town. We would spend the day exploring the Eravikulam National Park, the home of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr (mountain goat).
We also visit the Mattupetty Dam and the Top Station Viewpoint before returning to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Munnar to Thekkady – A Journey Through Spice-Scented Trails
Thekkady - Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast before embarking on a journey towards Thekkady, a wildlife reserve known for its diverse flora and fauna. It is home to animals like the Gaur, Tiger, lion-tailed Macaques and Elephants. We would go on a jungle safari where we might spot some of these and take a boat ride on the Periyar River to soak up the stunning landscape.
Cardamom Hills - On day eight, our adventure took us from the verdant expanses of Munnar to the vibrant heart of Thekkady, covering a distance of 100 KM. This leg of our journey promised an enriching experience as we rode through the aromatic Cardamom Hills, an area renowned for its spice plantations, before delving into the cultural depths of South India through its traditional performances.
Thekkady to Allepey – A Voyage to the Venice of the East
Alappuzha - As dawn broke on the ninth day of our sojourn, we geared up for the journey from Thekkady to Alleppey, a distance of 140 KM, eagerly anticipating the transition from the verdant wilderness to the serene backwaters. Alleppey, also known as Alappuzha, is famed for its labyrinthine network of waterways, lush landscapes, and the unique ecosystem of its backwaters, earning it the moniker “Venice of the East“.
Upon arrival, we checked into a riverside luxury cottage, which offered an immediate sense of peace and detachment from the world outside. The cottage, nestled on the banks of a gently flowing river, provided stunning views of the backwaters, surrounded by the lush greenery that Kerala is famous for.
Alleppey to Kochi – Exploring the Historical Enclave of Fort Kochi
Alleppey Backwaters - Thanks to its gorgeous backwaters – a network of canals and lakes, Alleppey is a well-known tourist destination. Enjoy the once-in-a-lifetime experience of a boat ride in Alleppey that takes you through the scenic backwaters. Later, we explore the local markets and visit the nearby temples.

Kochi Local – A Day Amongst Historical Splendors and Cultural Jewels
Kochi (Cochin) - After breakfast, we head towards Kochi or Cochin – the queen of the Arabian sea! This city if known for its rich colonial history, beautiful backwaters and vibrant culture. We visit the Fort Kochi area, which is filled with colonial architecture, churches, and cafes.
Also check out the ‘Cheena-Vala’ or the Chinese fishing nets, the mid-air suspension fishing that would remind you of the ones used in China. Dinner and overnight stay in Cochin.

Kochi (Cochin) - On the last day of the tour, we bid farewell to each other and hope to see you again on one of our Motorbike Expeditions!
