A truly local immersive experience - Our tour certainly delivered on five senses and more! Our guide Jainath was excellent. We enjoyed his company, knowledge, thoughtfulness and crowd navigation skills. This is truly immersive, local knowledge filled, one of a kind experience in Chennai. Absolutely worth doing.

Vibrant Chennai - Sowcarpet Street Food Walking Tour Chennai was an extraordinary experience. You really do use all your five senses as you take in daily Chennai street life by weaving in and out of foot and road traffic by vibrant street stalls. Our guide, Jainath, confidently guided us into places we'd never try on our own to taste eight different types of local street food. Jainath also kindly organised tuk tuks to take us back to our hotels at the end. I highly recommend this tour.

Enjoyable Food Tour with Jainath - We had a good time on our food tour in Chennai with Jainath. He took us to try a variety of local dishes, including pani puris, samosas, jalebi, shree vada pavs, and more. He explained each dish and its background, which added to the experience. A heads up - the food is all vegetarian and some of the food is quite spicy, so be prepared! Overall, it was an enjoyable way to explore the food in Chennai.

Best Food Tour in Chennai - I could not have asked for a better host than Nivi. She was wonderful, patient, knowledgeable and professional. On top of explaining each food dish and all the ingredients, she spoke of the culture and life in India. I learned so much more than expected! We went to multiple delicious food places. Each were clean and very popular among the locals. I felt comfortable eating and drinking at every stop. I loved everything, but my favorites were the Dhahi Poori and vada pav! She patiently passed through different shops and encouraged me to take my time if I wanted to look around. I will ask for Nivi every time now. I highly recommend this tour if you want to experience Chennai as a local!

Chennai afternoon walking degustation - Best food tour I've ever been on, guide was extremely passionate about sharing his favourites places to eat and the dishes plus full of knowledge of every street, stall and surrounds. Even was kind enough to get me back to my train station on the chennai metro which I wouldn't have even attempted by myself... Absolute legend.

An adventure you wouldn't dare to do on your own - If you're into authentic Indian street food, then search no more. With Neeshanth as a guide you can relax in a vibrant environment as he navigates you to the best food stalls and stands in Georgetown. Be prepared that it may take longer than the planned 2h and come hungry. But you will be rewarded with miniature sandwich bites, Indian burgers as well as everything on the way that may spark your eye!

A calm guide in a busy environment - The tour was adapted to your previous experiences with Indian cuisine and when you saw something you were interested in, there was always time to stop for that. Our guide, Neeshanth, would always pick the best quality for us. Amongst my favourite foods were the ginger-cardamome brew coffee, saffron lassi, and samosa. Would highly recommend to go with Neeshanth as he was not stressing about the time frame, gave also general Indian culture advice and information as well as he safely guided us through this vibrant and maybe for Europeans rather busy narrow streets.

Super food, Super guide, Super experience - We had an amazing time getting to experience the street food in Sowcarpet. Neeshanth was a great guide that helped us navigate the busy streets, adapted the tour to our wishes, and selected great places for us to eat along the way. He even helped us find our way home on the metro after the tour was over. Would definitely recommend this tour to others who would like to experience the unique street food in Chennai.

Street Eats with the Chennai hustle and bustle - The tour offered a number of street eats including some popular spots that many locals enjoy a chat and a nibble at. The food was delicious but was also very spicy! The tour guide was very kind though and did mix up the food between spicy and less spicy/no spice to try ease the burn. The guide was knowledgeable and very lovely to spend the tour/evening with, he showed us and spoke of the longest market street in Asia which was located in this bazaar and is 3km in length. What I loved about this tour is that we were able to weave in and out of the bazaar, be amongst the hustle and bustle whilst not needing to worry if we’re going in the right direction etc. Thank you for having us Jainath! It was wonderful meeting you 😊
