The 2nd Tunnel - Another Infiltration Tunnel constructed by North Korea!
The 2nd Tunnel is located in the Cherwon area.
Discovered in the DMZ along the military demarcation line.
After extensive excavation on March 19, 1975, the second tunnel intended for a sudden North Korean raid was uncovered in the Korean army’s area.
More than 30,000 soldiers can pass through this tunnel in an hour. Seven South Korean soldiers were attacked by North Korean soldiers when this tunnel was discovered.
The tunnel is situated in a solid granitic layer, with a total length of 3.5 km, located 50m-160m underground. -
Cheorwon Peace Observatory - The Peace Observatory is located within 2 km of North Korea!
The first floor is an exhibition hall, and the second floor is an observatory, allowing tourists to view the ecosystem, the fortress of Gung-Ye Castle town, Pyeonggang tableland, and Seonjeon town of North Korea in the DMZ.
It is a place where visitors can see the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) and North Korea at a glance. -
