Wonderful staff - This is not a criticism in any way, but please be aware that even though this is all on one level once inside, there are steep steps outside which are impossible for an electric wheelchair user. This is stated on the website, but I only read the first bit, so totally my fault. However, a member of staff very kindly arranged for us to go to the Deva Roman Experience instead, which was brilliant too. I just wouldn't want anyone else to be disappointed not to be able to visit.

NOT Sick To Death of this place! - This was AWESOME. The staff were so incredibly welcoming on arrival and the walk around museum was incredibly insightful and entertaining, there was a huge amount of information and interactive components. As huge horror fans, both me and my wife loved every second of this and we will definitely be returning with either more friends or our kids in tow. 5/5!

Fun and unusual! - We absolutely loved it here! Was a fantastic find during our stay in Chester. Very unusual and cleverly laid of, you learns and can interact with certain parts of the experience too. Staff were helpful and friendly. The price is very reasonable for the time you spend in there. Very different, highly recommend!

Walk in with toddler - Steps up to the old church which was has been converted. The staff was helpful on explaining how child friendly it was with no jump scares. It was very well laid out and they made good use of the space they have. The details were nicely signed and explained. Would recommend

very cool if you’re into this kinda stuff! - lots of interactive elements, very interesting if you’re into history or anything like it, i do think younger ones may get a little bored at parts. staff were always lovely, just some elements seem slightly dated even though the attraction itself isn’t.

Worth a visit - The hotel we were staying in recommended this attraction when we said we were having a day of history. It’s well laid out, lots of things to look at (and smell!) and lots to learn. Unfortunately some of the parts for attractions were missing but there’s enough to see. Lots of reading (which is fine by us) and a good way to spend an hour. No interactive actors, so don’t expect a ‘York dungeons’ type experience but if you like to learn about medical/weird/messed up history then give it a go.

A good experience - Lots of information but lots of the interactive activities had parts missing, I assume previous guests had taken them which is a shame. Would like to see an audio tour by the characters at the beginning or a physical actor to show you around.

Lovely staff, disappointing attraction. - Our first visit to Chester city centre and this was at the top of the kids (9 & 14) list of places to go. Overall very disappointed. The staff member who greeted us was fab. So friendly and engaging, a great welcome. Unfortunately our visit went downhill from there. Ultimately the attraction was just tired- bits missing, dirty, things not working. A lot to read which was interesting but just not enough to do other than read. It is a self guided tour which sounds great but due to the size of the attraction (small) and layout, it meant you felt rushed through as there were others behind you waiting. Toilets were dirty. Wouldn’t recommend.
