Brilliant from start to finish - This was the best way to experience the Mekong by slow boat you got to relax and unwind watching life on the Mekong pass you by. Elephants, Water Buffalo etc villages working, on the banks. The boat was awesome you are allocated your own table per booking for the whole trip but there was also comfortable seating at front and back of boat and day beds to lounge around on to, you could easily move around the boat at leisure. Food was exceptional and plenty of it, everyone on our cruise throughly enjoyed it people were going back for seconds and thirds wonderful variety of dishes and combinations all very fresh. Bananas, orangers, tea, coffee and cold water were in abundance the whole trip. Plus you could buy snacks and alcohol on board. When it was a little cool at times blankets were provided. 3 x small excusions broke the trip up nicely. I 100% recommend this trip staff were also friendly and helpful.

Highlight of our trip to Southeast Asia! - I was very uncertain if a slow boat trip along the Mekong was worth it, but I am SO glad we went for it! We had such a relaxing and pleasant journey along the river. It was an incredible opportunity to see what life is like and gave us a completely different view of Laos than if we had just gone to the cities. Nagi of Mekong had the entire trip extremely well run and it made the journey so easy and enjoyable for us. I definitely recommend paying for a nice boat like this as the other boats probably wouldn’t be as enjoyable. We stayed at the Le Grande in Pak Beng, which was absolutely incredible and worth the upgrade.

A perfect way to travel - Excellent communications for the booking via email. Tickets were delivered to our hotel prior to our arrival. The boat guide was smiley and knowledgeable. Food was delicious. The whole trip was comfortable, very peaceful and chilled with incredible views of the mountains either side and village life. We heard lots of horror stories about the other companies and were so pleased to have chosen Nagi.

The Best Way to Enter Laos - This cruise was so good last year, I came back a second time. I enjoyed it so much again. The scenery is beautiful as we glide past at a pace it can be absorbed. We stopped at a Khmu village the first day, and having done the trip before, I knew that the under privileged children would love to receive some small little toys. It was a delight to give them that excitement. Lunch is delicious on board and a night at Pakbeng part of the adventure in to Laos. The second day also has two stop off points, I didn't bother with the Pak ou caves again, it didn't thrill me enough to climb the exhaustive steps to the upper cave a second time. A village stop to the usual whisky tasting and on to our destination Luang Prabang. You are looked after through the border crossing all the way to your accomodation at LP, accompanied by a local guide the whole time.

Nagi of Mekong cruise in October, 2024 - From our initial contact with Adisak to our arrival in Luang Prabang this tour was professionally organized. Our guide, La, was knowledgeable and provided excellent information and insight, the boat staff were friendly and helpful. The meals onboard were very tasty and the hotel accommodation at the halfway point in Pak Bang was very nice, clean and comfortable. Great experience, highly recommended!

Wonderful Experience - Such a great two day cruise down the Mekong! Everything was so well organised and ran smoothly. We were picked up from our hotel, guided through the visa process crossing the border into Laos, on board and relaxed in no time! The meals onboard were delicious, some of the best we had during our 5 week holiday. The overnight stay in Pak Beng was interesting, there are quite a few small restaurants along the river so we went for a wander to find somewhere to have dinner as the restaurant was closed at the hotel we stayed at. Due to the Mekong River levels being quite high we only stopped a few times for sightseeing, one local village, whisky village and caves. This suited us fine as we were quite happy chilling on board and enjoying the beautiful scenery. Transfer to our hotel in Laos was also included at the end of the trip, great service. Would highly recommend this cruise and plan to do this again ourselves perhaps in reverse from Laos to Thailand next time just for fun.

Okay... - The trip on the Nagi of Mekong leaves us with a dodgy impression: we were guided by the many positive reviews, but are not sure if we would book again with our experiences. Pro: Everything is organized very, very reliably. As promised, the documents are in the hotel, the morning pickup at the hotel in Chiang Kohng runs smoothly, everything works out like clockwork. The boat is quite cute (but admittedly those were the others you see inevitably on the two days, too), there are cold drinks and fruit and a clean toilet on board at all times. Contra: You are assigned a place where you (or at least it was with us) sit permanently. In our case, this was on the sunny side, so we sat in the sun for the full two days. Our "guide" managed to tell us exactly nothing about the country we drove through during the complete two days and instead preferred to offer us sales offers for eSiM and city tours in Luang Prabang. The visits to the two villages are certainly a matter of taste, I personally find these guided tours into the private lives of less privileged people uncomfortable and I also do not have to see a "whisky village". What really annoyed me: we had insulin (a very temperature-sensitive drug) in our luggage and I had asked if we could please put it in a cool place, such as where the food is stored - twice I was put off with the request of our "guide", after which it was suggested to put my husband's essential medicines in the generally accessible beverage cooler, which contained 30 cm high of meltwater.
