It is a place of worship, dates back to the year 1373 when the first Chedi was built. It is an important pilgrimage spot for the devout and is sacred site to many Thai people. Visitors can take the 306 steps staircase or ride on a cable car to reach the pagoda. Take a full-day excursion of attractions in Chiang Mai’s vicinity, covered by a prominent temple - Wat Doi Suthep, and other notable points of interest. Travel at leisure with your dedicated guide and discover the scenic premises of Chedi Luang Temple. Savour the region’s famous dish - “Khao Soi,” for lunch. Following lunch, we pay a visit to a ‘Thai Farmer’s House’ and partake in a River Cruise towards the city, offering a unique perspective of Chiang Mai. A Great Way to Experience Chiang Mai - An amazing trip, made better by a great tour guide (Ms Bee) and a great driver (Bo). The van was clean and spacious. Ms Bee clearly knows her stuff and was engaging and pleasant for the whole day. The restaurant she chose for lunch was very good as well. Absolutely and positively a great way to get to experience Chiang Mai!

A Comprehensive Tour of Chiang Mai - We had a great day on our tour of Chiang Mai with Gobi. We saw a lot in a fairly short time, including things we probably would not have thought to visit otherwise, like the farm house and the local market. Our guide (Gobi) was great and very knowledgeable. The tour was well paced and didn’t feel rushed. The driver and guide were very attentive, provided water and explanations. Lunch and ice cream were delicious too. All in all a great day to get a full overview of Chiang Mai.

Highly recommend - Very enjoyable and informative trip. Excellent guide who shared his knowledge of the history and culture of Chiang Mai. Perfect combination of three temples, a delicious lunch and a relaxing boat trip back to the city. Enjoyed trying Khao Soi for the first time with our guide explaining the dish and how to add additional flavourings to our individual tastes.

Could Not Have Been Better - Our guide Noi? Noy? Was very knowledgeable and enthusiastically shared the history of Chiang Mai on the way to and from the temple. A visit to the Wat would not have been the same without her detailed explanations of both this specific temple and Buddhism in general. We were able to tour at what felt like a leisurely pace and yet remain on time. The river cruise was a nice escape from the city streets and the lunch at the end of the cruise was some of the best food I ate during my entire visit to Chiang Mai!
