Well worth it - Our guide was professional and enthusiastic. He and the driver picked us up in the old city in a nice, comfortable vehicle. They shifted the schedule a bit to dodge the rain. The royal gardens are probably more popular with Thai tourists than foreigners, but made for nice sightseeing and many photo ops. True, the temple is largely about "Buddusiness," but that's the reality here. It's still a spectacle, and the view is very nice.

Wonderful and informative - It was a good visit especially with our guide, Mr. Noom and driver, Mr. Boo. We enjoyed it and had a great time with Noom explaining the history of the places and showing us what to do at the temple.

great experience - We had an incredible tour guide who spoke English very well. He was knowledgeable and gave us a great insight into Thai culture. He was a monk for 9 years before he had to leave to take care of an sickly parent. With his background he was able to help us really understand the traditions and rites that we were observing. This tour was just perfect for us.

Awesome tour, thank you! - Nan and Boo were incredible. Nan's knowledge of Buddhism and his enthusiasm for Thai history and culture were infectious! What an incredible experience and way to learn about Chiang Mai!

go via Grab. You don't need a tour guide, especially this one. - Wat Doi Kham was quite nice, worth a visit. However, The Royal Park is absolutely stunning (if you like gardens and flowers). It is massive and there are some really impressive gardens. Could easily spend a whole day here. (Bring a backpack with food and have a picnic, there are many cool spots to chill). It vastly exceeded my expectations. However, our tour guide on this tour (I think her name was Tip) was not good. We were really interested in the flowers and the gardens and the whole visit it seemed like she just wanted to get it over with so she should could end the tour. She did not guide us towards anything interesting, in fact, I was the one who had to keep finding cool stuff and guiding us towards it. She was only interested in getting back on the tram so she could stop walking. Really bad. I wonder what the tour would have been like had I not kept seeing interesting spots in the distance and guiding us to them myself. Seemed like she was just going to shuffle us right past them. Regardless, I believe you could easily get to these places with a Grab or Taxi. Just do that. You don't need a tour guide.
