At a towering 2,565 meters above sea level, Doi Inthanon holds the title of the highest mountain in Thailand. The site features intricate mountain chains and a mild climate, highlighting a lush, damp forest which serves as the origin of several major branches of the Mae Ping River. Numerous streams fall from these heights, creating stunning waterfalls such as Mae Klang and Mae Ya. A halt at Karen village is planned for the return journey.
