The village is about 4 kilometers away from Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep. The villagers wear traditional Hmong clothes, sell traditional Hmong handicrafts, and live in traditional Hmong-style homes.

Doi Suthep is an ever-present element in the backdrop of Chiang Mai. As the local proverb says, ‘Without savoring Khao Soi or witnessing the panorama from Doi Suthep, your visit to Chiang Mai remains incomplete.’ This majestic peak looms over the city from its northwest position, offering stunning vistas when reached. Beyond its towering figure on the skyline, Doi Suthep houses some of Thailand’s most cherished cultural icons. It was in 1981 when Doi Suthep, alongside Doi Pui and Doi Buakha, and the encompassing 161 square kilometers (62 square miles) of woodland, were declared Thailand’s 24th national park. The subsequent year saw an additional annex of 100 square kilometers (38 square miles), expanding the park’s coverage to a total of 261 square kilometers (100 square miles). Rich forests drape off the mountain flanks, presenting deciduous trees at the lower slopes and coniferous at the higher altitudes.
