Our mission at Chiangmai Elephant Care is to create a better future for elephants and ensure their happiness.

At Chiangmai Elephant Care, we have seen firsthand the challenges elephants face, such as habitat loss, poaching, and human conflict. Our work in elephant care has taught us how to improve their well-being.

With our experience at Chiangmai Elephant Care, we understand the physical, emotional, and social needs of elephants. By studying their behavior and instincts, we create environments where they can thrive. Top of the must-do list… - This was an incredible experience, truly a highlight of our trip to Thailand. We had the opportunity to feed the elephants, walk with them and even wash them in the water. It is a simply humbling experience to be so close to these magnificent animals. Our guide Ford and his colleagues at the sanctuary do really valuable work to conserve the elephants in their natural environment. We struggle to think how this could be improved really. Definitely recommend

Absolutely lovely - Todd and Ford were amazing tour guides. Todd drove from the city to the sanctuary while informing me on all of the amazing Chiang Mai local traditions, and he brought me some very delicious pad thai to eat along with some lovely fruit. Ford educated me on elephant care taking and took lots of great pictures for me. The sanctuary is cozy and beautiful. It was very apparent that the elephants are well taken care of. Thank you Todd and Ford!

A must do in Chang Mai!! - The elephants were a sight to see and really a highlight of our visit to Chang Mai. Our guide Tong was fun and engaging, He has great stories of the Thai and Myanmar people. He’s a natural tour guide, spoke excellent English. And makes a fantastic Pad Thai with fresh fruit for lunch. Our elephant guide Ford was pleasant and knowledgeable as well. The elephants in our humble opinion are very well cared for and would highly recommend this adventure. This is a dad and his 15 year old daughter travelling Thailand. We also recommend going to the Sticky Waterfalls in the afternoon. My daughter loved it. Keep taking care of the elephants Ford!! The support guides (did not get their names) are friendly and gentle with their elephants. They are good at what they do. We loved our experience with Chang Mai Elephant Care.

Amazing - Go go go!! It was absolutely incredible. We booked through our hostel and also went to a temple and sticky waterfalls during this tour. The elephants were definitely the highlight of the whole trip! You really noticed how they cared about them and took good care of them.

Amazing well loved elephants - Tod picked us up from our hotel on time. We stopped briefly at a rest station to get drinks and toilet break on the way to the sanctuary. When we arrived the elephant came straight up to our vehicle! There were three elephants there and they have tours of 9 people/group morning and afternoon. We went in the morning. We were not disappointed! We fed the elephants, stroked them and washed them. They were not chained and wandered off as they pleased. One elephant did not want to join in for wash time so she just wandered off it was no problem. The elephants have a large area to roam and were well cared for and loved. Tod was an excellent guide/host as he explained a lot about the elephants and their care. We then had a lovely lunch home cooked and served in banana leaf so minimal environmental impact! We did tour C so after the elephants we went and did white water rafting. Tod again was so good and stopped on the way to take our photos. After this we drove on to the waterfall. We were given plenty of time to visit and walk up the waterfall. Returned safely home on time and exhausted but worth every penny!

A magical adventure - A unique place in this world. The way they treat the elephants is very sweet, kind and careful. You can tell that everything they do is done with love and with the due respect they deserve as rescued animals. The place, the food, the staff, absolutely everything perfect. It is evident that their mission is to care for and not mistreat or exploit the elephants. An experience full of magic and joy.

Great time with elephants - The sanctuary is not big and there was only our group, so we could enjoy interaction with the elephants. The place is scenic and the lunch was good. Great choice for a half day activity.
