Experience the most LIT happy hours in downtown Chicago at the American Writers Museum’s Get Lit museum nights. Explore exhibits, enjoy live music, poetry exercises, open mics, and more!
- American Writers Museum - Get Lit is your new way to enjoy evenings in the Loop: Meet your friends and fellow book nerds for an early-evening treat. On the second Tuesday of every month, from 5:30 pm
- 7:30 pm, the AWM serves up drinks, music, special tours and fun activities to get you lit!
Get Lit events are $15 for AWM members and $25 for non-members. Tickets include admission to the museum and drink tickets for two complimentary beverages. Additional drink tickets are available for purchase. Guests must be 21+ to attend Get Lit. Funds raised at this event will go towards the AWM’s Write In Youth Education Program that serves middle and high school students from under-resourced schools.

Join our Get Lit museum nights, a monthly late-night event that takes place every second Tuesday of the month, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
Forget being sat in a bar, instead spend your evening hours in Chicago downtown by taking a tour of AWM’s exhibits, while sipping a refreshing drink. Every Get Lit event comes with a unique theme, accompanied by special activities in line with the theme like live performances, poetry sessions, open mic nights, book exchange events, and more. Believe us when we say, Tuesday’s happy hours at AWM are the coolest ones in the Loop.
