Join a Sunday-only pizza crawl in Chicago’s Bucktown-Wicker Park. Taste four pizza styles, meet owners, and explore the history of Chicago pizza.
- Wicker Park - We’ll start off with a Roman al Taglio style pizza, then walk up and down Damen Avenue, to taste pizzas from three other places, learning about the neighborhood. You’ll taste a classic Chicago deep-dish, a NYC-style slice and a long-fermented artisan pie. Along the way, you’ll meet some of the owners and pizza makers, and learn about their history and inspiration for creating their unique pizzas.
Our “doughcents” are trained to discuss Chicago’s pizza history, and can talk about highlights from the book, “Pizza City USA.”

Learn about Chicago’s 10 pizza styles, and discover why there’s more to The Windy City than just deep-dish. Go back in the kitchens to see how pizzas are made, talk to the owners and taste the differences. Expert “doughcents” will share the history of Chicago pizza as well other interesting tidbits about the neighborhood you’re exploring.
