- Wicker Park - We’ll start off with a Roman al Taglio style pizza, then walk up and down Damen Avenue, to taste pizzas from three other places, learning about the neighborhood. You’ll taste a classic Chicago deep-dish, a NYC-style slice and a long-fermented artisan pie. Along the way, you’ll meet some of the owners and pizza makers, and learn about their history and inspiration for creating their unique pizzas.
Our “doughcents” are trained to discuss Chicago’s pizza history, and can talk about highlights from the book, “Pizza City USA.”

Created by 13-time James Beard Award-winning food journalist Steve Dolinsky, this Sunday-only series of tours is based on his book, “Pizza City, USA” and features four different styles of pizzas in less than three hours. Learn about Chicago’s 10 pizza styles, and discover why there’s more to The Windy City than just deep-dish. Go back in the kitchens to see how pizzas are made, talk to the owners and taste the differences. Expert “doughcents” will share the history of Chicago pizza as well other interesting tidbits about the neighborhood you’re exploring. This Tour Is Not Just About Pizza! - Our Tour Guide Mike was amazing- knowledgeable, engaging and just a delight. Being from New York, it was fun and informative learning about the evolution of pizza and also noteworthy facts about Chicago. This tour is not just about Pizza!

Amazing pizza tour! - This was a delicious & fun tour! Mike, our guide was engaging, funny and a great host! We tried 4 terrific pizza places. We moved at the perfect pace & learned interesting facts and quirks about the neighborhood!

My 2nd Great Experience with Pizza City USA - This time I did the Bucktown-Wicker Park walking pizza tour. Our guide, Mike, was knowledgeable, kind, and absolutely hilarious. We got to meet some of the pizza place owners and hear their stories. Lots of information about the various styles of pizza. A great way to sample different styles, places, and toppings, as well as see the neighborhood. Great pizza, learning, and laughter. Pizza City USA tours will be a part of all my future trips to Chicago, they are truly that wonderful.

Full and sleepy. - The pizza featured was excellent and our tour guide, Mike, was very knowledgable and entertaining. It was also great to have Steve with us at the end to talk pizza and give some of his favorite spots. Thanks guys. I'm very full and it's nap time now.

Fantastic Experience!! - This tour exceeded our expectations! We stopped at four amazing pizza spots with plenty of history and interesting points along the way as we walked between them. At each place we learned about the type of pizza and what made that restaurant special. Our guide Mike was engaging, friendly, funny, and easy to understand. We left stuffed and happy. Do this!!

A must-do for pizza lovers when in Chicago - I'm so glad we booked this on our Chicago vacation. It was an amazing, laid-back tour and our guide, Mike, was awesome. I will be spreading the word on this tour to friends who are planning their own trips, and I will definitely sign up for one of the other tours next time I am in Chicago!

Best Pizza Crawl! - My boyfriend and I took the Bucktown/ Wicker Park Pizza Tour on our first visit to Chicago - we LOVED it! Our guide Mike was super knowledgeable, friendly and funny. All the pizzas we tasted were unique and delicious. We were completely stuffed by the end. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Chicago.
