Great Option for Families! - This was our second time out with these guys — also recommend the Bites & Brews tour BTW. This was a great trip for the fam — hits all the top spots as well as some great neighborhood places. Cruising along the shoreline is dope and riding downtown is an experience. They keep the groups pretty small, so it’s easy to keep up and not get left behind. Guides are top-notch 👌

AT 62 YRS OLD, LEARNED TO RIDE A BIKE - At 62 years old, I did not think I could ride a bike. Never rode one before. Emma, my tour guide, was so encouraging, kind, and supportive to me on my first bike tour. I learned to ride a bike at 62, and I love Bobby's Bike Hike for teaching me, Allison, and Zoie how to love riding a bike. Emma was just SO AMAZING, She is Just So Very Wonderful. We loved Emma, and all the Team at Bobby's Bike Hike. You Get So Much More than Your Monies Worth!! The Best Experience of a lifetime!!

Great family tour - Great family tour. Ria was an awesome guide and answered all my kids questions. Definitely recommend. Good exercise, but not too much for my 8 and 11 year old.

If you are thinking of doing this- DO IT! - This tour far exceeded our expectations! First and foremost, Reya, our guide was the perfect guide. He shared so many interesting facts about the city, the food and each are we visited. But he didn't talk so much that we felt that we were on an educaitonal tour. The views were amazing and we felt that we got to see a great part of Chicago that we would not have seen had we been on our own. And the food- we got a entire slice of pizza, a loaded hot dog and great serving of gelato. This tour is a great value and a great deal of FUN! Do it!

Could have been much better - I enjoyed the ride around the town. I was disappointed that the bikes for 2 riders broke down shortly after the first stop on the tour. We waited about 20 to 30 minutes before we could get going again. The tour guide then rushed us through the trip. We rushed from one stop to the other and ended our trip 15 minutes early. We rode right past some notable locations that I thought the tour guide could have just pointed at them and instruct us to go back if we were interested. I felt somewhat cheated.

Unsafe experience - not family-friendly for elementary age kids! - The good: The food was fine and the tour guide was knowledgeable and told us interesting stories about the food we tried. (Although the website did mention we would stop for deep dish, a Chicago hot dog, gelato, and a dessert treat - we only got 3 of the 4, with no gelato included.) The bad: However, this specific tour is billed as "all ages" and "family friendly" and we did not find that to be the case. The website describes the route as being on "protected bike lanes and bike paths." We enjoyed the portions of the tour that were on such paths, but the entire middle part of the tour was on main city streets without bike lanes. We felt *extremely* unsafe as we were directed to take up an entire lane of Wabash Ave with cars honking and whizzing by us. Even we as adults did not feel safe, and our 10-year-old (who is generally capable of long independent bike rides at home) was terrified. Our 7-year-old was on a tagalong attached to my husband's bike - it was very wobbly and difficult for him to keep upright. At intersections, we rolled through stop signs without our guide clearly directing traffic to pause, and we had numerous near collisions with pedestrians crossing streets at the same time we were turning. This could be a lovely tour if back roads and bike lanes were primarily used and we would urge Bobby's Bike Hikes to consider alternative routes before someone is seriously injured - weaving in and out of traffic simply doesn't feel safe for anyone, let alone families with children. We voiced these concerns upon returning to the shop and were told that no one has ever felt uncomfortable before, but we cannot imagine how. Do not attempt this tour with kids younger than teenagers.
