Explore Chicago’s underground Pedway system and delight in the seasonal holiday decorations and attractions along the route.

The tour starts in the lobby of the Swissotel (323 W. Wacker), where participants descend into the Pedway and head to the Cultural Center to admire its renowned Tiffany Dome. A brief walk through the Pedway leads to Macy’s department store, featuring its iconic Tiffany Ceiling, the “Great Tree” in the Walnut Room, and the store’s beautifully decorated holiday windows.

The Pedway then guides visitors to the Richard J Daley Civic Center, where they ascend to visit the lively Christkindlmarket. Returning to the Pedway, a short walk brings them to City Hall and Marriage Court.

Another brief walk followed by a quick train ride takes the group to the other side of the Loop. Here, they pass the start/end point of Route 66, enjoy the Art Institute’s lion statues adorned with festive holiday wreaths, and proceed to Millennium Park to view the city’s official Christmas Tree and the famous Cloud Gate sculpture, also known as The Bean.
