Overall enjoyable! - The variety of themes on exhibit were very enjoyable, from animals to rocks and dinosaurs. Also far away lands. Cafeterias were nice with a variety of foods.

World class collection reckoning with its complicated history - The Field Museum’s collection is unparalleled and presented in creative, engaging, and, most remarkably, ethical and honest ways. Without tokenizing or pandering, the curators have responded to both legal challenges and social criticism from various stakeholders, particularly indigenous tribes and activists whose ancestors’ belongings—and sometimes remains—and spiritual and cultural heritage have been displayed alongside nonhuman animals. Other Māori sacred home and the indigenous peoples new collection were highlights, as are the dinosaur fossil collections, especially Sue the Tyrannosaurus rex.

Sue!!! - I came to see Sue after watching the documentary Dinosaur 13. I recommend watching it for the harrowing tale how Sue made it to Chicago. Sue is the most complete T. rex skeleton ever found, and they are a beauty, lovingly curated by the Field Museum with a light show every few minutes. I mean, you won’t find that in NYC. Only in Chicago. Science museums aren’t my thing much anymore, but this was a must see and all them Dinos made me a kid again.

Loved what we saw! - We covered about one third of this museum in about the same time that we did all of the Griffin (science and industry) the day before. Exhibits are very well done, organized, informative, and fluid. Amazing number of authentic fossils and specimens, not just the replicas in so many other collections. Great way to spend a day, just don't expect to see it all!

World Class Natural History Museum - I love museums, but more than three hours and I’m toast. I would highly recommend seeing Sue the tyrannosaurus and the dinosaur/ evolving planet exhibit. I would also recommend the African animals with the Tsavo lions. Very interesting story. Finally, be sure to see the Egyptian tomb. There is so much to see, and every part of the museum was interesting, but for me, those were the big three.

Good Museum - This is a solid museum but it didn’t blown us away. It was kind of hard to find stuff but it is a pretty structure in which it is housed.
