Outstanding Tour, A Must For Frank Lloyd Wright Fans - I love historic homes and house tours and the staff here at Robie House does an excellent job. Our guide Kate was one of the best we've ever had, warmly gracious, deeply knowledgeable and a superb museum educator. This is celebrated as one of Wright's must-see properties and it lives up to the billing for its daring innovations early in his career. Very few furnishings remain and there were only a few visual aids to depict the rooms furnished and in use. Still, it is stunning and absolutely worth going out of your way to see. We readily found free street parking just around the corner in this residential neighborhood bordering the university, and the tour lasted one hour.

A stunning architectural example from FLW - Had a great tour of this home with a very friendly and knowledgable volunteer. Only a small group, and got some great photos too. Bravo!

Fascinating slice of architectural history - There is such an insightful story that can be told about Frank Lloyd Wright's ideas by this house and it's an absolute treat to hear it while walking through it. The staff are super friendly and helpful too! Ask about the self-guided neighborhood walking tour too! These are a great way to start your day before heading to the Museum of Science and Industry for more learning!

A gem of FLW architecture - If you like architecture and design, this is a place you should visit. It is one of Wright's last homes in Chicago's Prarie style. Beautiful details and very interesting spaces. The explanation of the tour is excellent, with a lot of knowledge of the house and the construction site. We went by bus. You have to walk about 15 minutes from the stop to the house. How it was raining and very cold was very demanding, but it was worth it. Highly recommended.

A must-see for Frank Lloyd Wright fans - The house is considered his fullest expression of Prairie style architecture. The docent was informative and engaging and provided a wonderful overview of this masterpiece.

ROBIE House, a must see. - Interesting facts about the architecture of the ROBIE House with Tom as our tour guide. Excellent tidbits about the thinking of Frank Lloyd Wright as he designed the famous house. I wish the house was furnished or there were photos in the rooms of how the house once looked.

Staff rude, tour amazing, Mary saved the day - A group of us planned a visit to Robie House on the last day of our 5 day trip to Chicago. Upon arriving before noon, we were informed that the 6 of us could not tour together, only 2 tickets remained for the next tour. We were told that we should have consulted their website which would have recommended purchasing tickets prior to our visit. None of our guides to Chicago recommended this, and upon returning home I went to the website. They offer online tickets, but I could not find any statement recommending pre-purchase. The staff were quite adamant that they could not accommodate us. They then offered to allow 2 extra on the tour. They did this reluctantly and we felt very unwelcome. Two of our group graciously offered to not go, so the rest of us bought tickets. Outside the house while waiting for the tour, we were overheard by Mary, a volunteer docent at Robie House. She was on her way home, but was dismayed by our experience . She then delighted us all with a quick overview of the outside of the house. We so enjoyed her highlights, and the conversation that followed. Mary- you made our day! Those of us who were able to tour the house highly recommend it- the guide very good and the house is amazing. I understand staff have to deal with many situations, but your annoyance with us was very disappointing. Visitors-Please book your tickets in advance to save disappointment!

Wrong Wright Home - Tickets issued to me were for the FLW house in Illinois NOT the home in Florida where we were. We had to purchase a limited tour of the home in Florida at the site because the tickets issued by Viator were not valid

Buy ticket AND book a tour, or you see nothing. - I bought a ticket in advance, without understanding that I also needed to book a tour. I arrived before the first tour at 10 o’clock, but was told that my ticket was useless without the tour booking. Although the first tour group was standing and waiting, they would not allow me to join, and only gave me the option of waiting an hour and a half. The staff could have not been less accommodating.
