Additional Information

Embark on a self-paced audio adventure that starts at the Laboratory Schools established by John Dewey and trails through the University of Chicago. During the journey, visitors will encounter acclaimed architects, Nobel Prize recipients, industry tycoons, and artists, as well as the DuSable Museum of African American History and the cradle of the Atomic Age.

Venturing into the historical Washington Park, one can witness ongoing soccer or cricket matches, bike rallies, softball games or cross-currents of runners and family picnics. A brief walk leads to the residence of the former President Barack Obama and his family.

The journey is guided by William Ayers, an erstwhile Professor of Education and a distinguished University Scholar, who has extensively chronicled social justice, democracy, education and the cultural nuances of schooling, endorsing teaching as a primarily intellectual, ethical, and political endeavor. Could be great but… - It would help to know the distance of the trip. I am 82. three miles was too much.. Also too much down time. There is much to be said about Washington Park and U of C. And maybe the boulevard system
