10/10 Recommend! - My husband and I LOVED our excursion to Chichen Itza. This was a long day (13 hours including transportation from Puerto Morelos) but I am so glad we chose this option because we got to do and see so much, including lunch at a restaurant near Chichen Itza, a tour of the historic and impressive ruins, a visit to a park with a beautiful cenote, and a quick stop to see Valladolid, a colonial town. Josue was our tour guide through the ruins and his energy and passion for the history and culture was amazing. I would take any history class this man had to offer! His presentations and explanations were excellent and he was one of the most memorable parts of the experience. The food at the restaurant was very good, and the selection of shopping was also very good. The ruins and the views of the cenote were breathtaking! One thing to note was that swimming in the cenote is a small extra charge ($5/ person) and it would be helpful to have some pesos on hand, although the shops and vendors also accept USD. I am so happy and grateful for this experience. Many thanks to Josue, Carlos, and the other staff for a wonderful trip.

Take the tour! - We had the most lovely day and incredible experience. We were on a bus with Miguel (guide), Josue (guide), Luis (tour manager), and Freddy (driver). ALL of them were kind and attentive. Our day started off with a lovely drive to the town of Chichen Itzá where they gave us pastries, fruit, coffee, water and orange juice. Miguel filled us with information, but also made it very fun and the time went fast. We were worried the drive would be long, but truly it did not feel 3 hours! We arrived to the town, took a restroom break, and then did some shopping. After that we went to the Chichen Itza site. When arriving they provided us with bottled water and umbrellas for those who wanted them. We were given an hour tour and 45 minutes to explore on our own. Miguel took Spanish speaking visitors and Josue took English speaking (us). Josue was sooooo knowledgeable and fun. I am not a history person, but he made the entire tour interesting, fun, interactive and relative. He’s very smart. He allowed us to ask as many questions as he wanted and answered them all. The tour was perfect! After the tour, we went to lunch which was not bad. I do wish it was a bit better, but it wasn’t terrible. The restaurant place also put on Mayan performances which was cool. After that we went to a Cenote for one hour. This was also super fun and beautiful. There was also tequila tasting here for those who wanted to try it. All the gentleman helped us get situated with our life jackets and locker rentals. After that, we stopped in the town of Valladoid for 20 minutes to explore. This 16th century town was stunning. Josue stayed around and let us ask him some more questions. Miguel made sure we were good and so did Luis. Also, to note, Freddy’s driving was very safe. After Valladoid, we got back on board the motorcoach for the ride back to Cancun. The gentleman provided soda, water, and beer. They also played the movie Coco from Disney which was very fitting. I was happy with that! The gentleman were thankful for our time and thanked us for being there. Honestly, Miguel, Josue, Luis and Freddy were incredible and we believe they were a big part of why we had such a great day. We had such a great experience. Definitely take the tour!
