Great option for a Chichen Itza tour! - Highly recommend this tour! Our guide, Miguel, was informative and great fun. I also thought this tour was really reasonably priced in comparison to the other tours where you get the same thing but at a much higher cost. The cenote we were taken to was Cenote Samaal just outside of Valladolid - it was gorgeous and although there was a decent amount of people, it didn't feel too crowded. The only things I would point out is that the stop at Valladolid is 30 mins, not an hour, as it currently says in the info on this page.

Historic Chichen Itza - Well organized and comfortable trip to Chichen Itza. Convenient pick up and drop off, great english speaking guide and delicious lunch. Much more tourist-y than other ruins but an iconic place to visit.

Pros and Cons - I was over charged on the Chichen Itza entrance tax by about 30 us dollars (my confirmation said 27 usd per person but I paid 112 for the 3 of us). The check in process was so hectic I didn't feel like arguing at the time. Why can't this already be factored in to the price at the time of booking? Our tour guide at Chichen Itza was supposed to be speaking English but he was very hard to understand. I don't remember his name. Do your research ahead of time so you know what you're going to be looking at. Be ready to be bombarded by the vendors at the Chichen Itza site. They are incredibly pushy. Decide ahead of time what you want to buy and then don't get suckered into anything else. I was looking at a Mayan calendar painted on leather. It was pretty, but he wanted $120 usd for it. No way! I got him down to about a third of that and felt comfortable paying it. Cenote swimming was great. But the required life jackets cost extra - why can't this just be included in the original price? Due to the governor visiting Valladolid, we didn't get to visit this town. I feel like we should get a partial refund because of this. Lunch was amazing! But bring snacks because you won't get back to your resort until about 8 or 9 pm and there was no where to stop to get food. Overall our tour guide Hector did a great job of explaining what we were going to see and do during the bus ride to the sites, and I'm glad my family and I went on this tour.

Only chichen itza and cenote was worth it - The visit to the archaeological site of Chichen Itza was very good with a good guide. Go into the cenote too. However a lot of time wasted during the day with trivialities. We stopped to see a so-called shaman who tried to con us with 14,000 pesos or 800€. It really chilled him. Then a cocoa-making tour where nobody makes cocoa but only sells. At every stop we were asked for tips for everything, it was unbearable that we were mistaken for itinerant banks. Due to the delays of the day, we arrived at our hotel at 22:30. Without food. On 3pm of the day we received a meal and a piece of bread at 5pm. We are exhausted and disappointed, I would not recommend this visit.
