Chichen Itza with Josue B - Josue B was our tour guide and he was amazing! Taught us so much about the Mayan culture and all their beliefs and practices. The lunch after was superb! Delicious homemade Mexican food and we really enjoyed it. It was nice to get the chance to explore the small village and to see the real Mexico! We couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide than Josue B. He was so informative, passionate, friendly and helpful.

Chichen Itza half day - We got extremely lucky and our guide was Lalo, our driver was “Sexy Manu”, and Caesar was there to help us as well! I had such a great time and learned so much. Lalo was incredible at making sure to educate us while ensuring we’re enjoying ourselves as well. He was happy to answer the hundreds of questions my husband and I asked about Chichen Itza. These 3 are extremely passionate about what they do and that made this trip all the more enjoyable. My only regret is not doing the full day tour and only doing the half-day. Afterwards we went to a traditional Mexican restaurant and were able to true authentic food (something I was wanting to do and got lucky that it was included!) and had some time to walk around the plaza of Valladolid. It was a longer drive but Lalo definitely made it feel like it was only 5 minutes. He explained much of the Mayan history and what we were about to see prior to exploring the ruins. He was extremely knowledgeable and was able to show us parts of the ruins that many may not be able to see otherwise (original pigment from when the city was in its prime). I absolutely want to return and I hope I get lucky enough to have these 3 as our guides again!

Mayan ruins - Tour guide was very knowledgeable about the ruins and was funny. He made the tour fun and informative. I learned a lot about how the geography influenced the culture of the Mayans and how they functioned in it.

Great half-day tour! - We had an excellent time on our tour. We did the Chicken Itza tour that included an hour in Valladolid for lunch but no Cenote swim like so many other tours did, which made it a shorter day and allowed us to still have the second half relaxing at our hotel. We were picked up at 6:55 am and back at our hotel at 3:11 PM. Our guide Ivan was great - informative and funny. We had 2 hours at Chichen Itza and because we got there early it was fairly empty for the majority of that time. The hawkers hadn't even set up their stalls yet until about half way through, although that could also have been because it was a Sunday morning. The first hour was a guided tour, and the second fee time to explore on our own. Then we had a little over an hour drive to Valladolid for an hour to eat a tasty little buffet lunch and check out the city center a little before the long drive back. Highly recommend, especially if you don't want to do the usual tours that take 12-14 hours and don't get you back until late.

Great Experience and Added Details I was looking for - Great experience! The drive is long, but the experience was worth it. We had a great driver, Christian, and guide, Omar. Omar was very knowledgeable about Mayan history and I looked up more information about the things he talked about. I had preconceived ideas in my mind about the Mayan Culture and I definitely learned new things and had some myths debunked. We learned about the game the Mayans played, the details that went into everything they built and all the hidden gems of everything they did. I don’t want to spoil anything about the large temple, but you learn some pretty cool things about what it can do. There are a lot of tables set up for people to sell things and they will definitely make a hard sell, but they aren’t rude or unkind. You will have about an hour to wonder around and look at all the other building ruins. Then you hop back on the van and head to lunch which is this nice restaurant. They have a buffet style of rice, beans, chicken, salad, soup, and cheese empanadas. They offer a tequila tasting, but we elected not to do that. You will have about a hour-ish to wonder the town where the restaurant is. There is a park-ish courtyard across from the older church and there is a great ice cream store on the corner next to a hotel near the park. Then you make the long trek back to your hotel. I would suggest sunscreen and bug spray for sure! There is little shade at Chichen Itza. Our guides provided two stops for bathroom and leg stretching on the way there and back. They also offer plenty of cold water, fruit (bananas for us) and these packs of chocolate or cherry cookies which were crispy and good! Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend to others!

Good tour - This was a good tour. The Ride to and from the site was very comfortable. Arturo was very knowledgeable. The tour of the buildings was short, sweet, and to the point. Lunch was filling.

Bad seating - We took our Grandchildren on this trip and we had a hood time. It was such a shame that the minibus we were in didn't have any leg room. We had our knees rammed into the seat in front as this was really uncomfortable for an over 2 hour journey so be warned if you are over 5.6 thus may be a problem.
