Amazing and Impressive! - After several days of my girlfriend asking random people about how far, how long, and how hot it was to Chichen Itza from our resort she decided to go. Most answers were 3 to 5-1/2 hours each way and no bathrooms on the bus. Our host Omar and driver Daniel were top notch. On the way they stopped at a restroom @ the first check point, they let us off the mini bus to go to the bathroom, gave us snacks and water. It was 2-1/2 hours to Chichen Itza. Omar's tour was outstanding, he kept us in the shade most of the time and then let us roam around on our own (45 minute tour, 45 minute to roam). When leaving they had ice cold towels, beers, and waters waiting for us on the mini bus. On the way back we stopped for lunch and tequila tasting (lunch was delicious) then back to our resort, 30 minutes to lunch, 2 hours to get back to the resort from the lunch stop. My girlfriend does not do well in the heat, but she did it and was glad she decided to go! It was HOT and humid, but worth the trip!

Chichen Itza (not really Express...) is AMAZING! - Not quite as described, but still a wonderful trip! Pickup from the hotel was at 6:30am and we got back around 5:30pm, so it was definitely more than 9 hours. Breakfast on board was bananas and cookies in individual packages. The Chichen Itza tour was wonderful! My teenagers and I learned so much from our guide, Hebi. He was with us for the full 2.5 hours at Chichen Itza. We had to choose between 20 minutes of free time to explore the vendors' offerings or a walk up to see the cenote. After we left, we were taken for lunch at a restaurant which was included in the price of the tour. We had to buy our own drinks. This was unexpected for us, so I was unprepared with cash in hand for tipping. Lunch was a quarter of a roasted chicken with some veggies and chicken tortilla soup. Not fantastic, but it was food. We were entertained by a mariachi band and Mexican dancers while we ate. They expected tips as well as the waitstaff. The restaurant was at the back of a gift shop, so we were given plenty of time to eat and then shop. It was obvious that the family's home was on the property and that this was their livelihood. I'm very understanding that the pandemic has taken its toll on the tourist economy of the Yucatan, but for both of the excursions we took, we had unexpected "shopping" pushed our way. If we would have had the boxed lunch that we expected, we wouldn't have been 2 hours longer in this trip than we expected.

Historical - Lots of interesting information about the Mayan culture. Learn about their architecture, beliefs, and customs. However, beware of salesmen.

Booked for an express... - Booked for an express tour (more expensive) as we were time conscious for a wedding event to get back at 3pm. Placed on a full day tour (cheaper due to popularity I guess) without being informed and had no resolution to issue when we found out. Could not return in time as we were 3-4 hours away and operator slow to respond. Returned to resort at 9:50pm and missed my friends wedding event. If you wanted a full day tour it's great. Would not book with this operator again though. Beware!
