Awesome experience, totally worth it! - Awesome trip overall! Easy to book and pay (I booked within 24hrs of the excursion), communication regarding trip details were sufficient and accurate. Pick up was on time, trip was well planned, early arrival at Chichen Itza was ideal, we avoided the crowds we saw entering upon our departure. We finished early enough to get back and enjoy the evening at our hotels. BONUS: Repelling down into the Cenote, was a surprise opportunity and awesome experience! Only minor complaint was I wished we had more time to walk around and explore the Chichen Itza complex freely, our guide took up about an hour talking, which only left us an hour to explore on our own.

Chichen itza & Maya Cenote. - Simply a fabulous, unforgettable day! This trip is an early start (6.30ish from Playacar) but there is a good 2 hours in the AC minivan before a stop off for the free breakfast and an opportunity to buy some much needed caffeine. Chichen itza is then just 30 mins away. Try to avoid a Sunday, as its the day the locals have free access which means it's even busier than normal. The tour around the site is excellent, our guide Enrique, who was an excellent host all day, stood in an translated with a good level of knowledge for around 45 mins, leaving an hour to explore the grounds and the numerous stalls selling gifts and souvenirs. The site overall is so well preserved and so much to see, so you will need to move at pace, but it is truly exceptional! Then, an hour or so journey to Maya Cenote, where we repelled down in to the cenote, which was just amazing, even for some of us with fears of heights! We then spent 30-60 mins enjoying the cenote, swimming, diving, jumping and flying off the zip line into the water. Our teenage boys in particular could have stayed all day they were enjoying themselves so much. Lunch was then served, Chicken, Rice, Beans and a local delicacy, a corn based patty combined with a local plant, which was delicious. The ritual before the plunge into the cenote, given by the Shamen was also a great experience. As is the norm, the photos being taken and sold by the venue are an important money maker. 20usd for 1, or 80 for everything they take of you. The journey back to Coast is just under 2 hours, giving plenty of time for yet another nap! An incredible, must do day. Thanks Enrique!!

Epic day in the Yucatan! - I give this trip 5 stars. Considering the scope over a single day, this tour was epic. We were picked up in Playa del Carmen with two other groups in the area. 12 people were escorted by our Tour guide Aldo, whose enthusiasm, knowledge and communication abilities were impressive! We traveled 2.5 hours to Chichen Itza, where we were given a brilliant description of what makes the temple of Kulkulcan one of the 7 wonders of the world. After some shopping amongst the multitude of Mayan artisans and vendors, we had a snack, and headed off to Cenote Maya, where we received a shaman blessing before we were introduced to a beautiful undergound oasis that we "rappelled" into with harnesses. After a delicious meal cooked with produce from this local indigenous village, we traveled back to our hotels feeling enriched by a wonderful Mayan experience. Highly recommended!

Breathtaking - My favorite part of our trip to Cancun! Everything was great, the pickup spot was iffy as we were waiting longer than expected but it was still awesome. Our driver/ guide got us there safe and sound. He was super knowledgeable about everything. Would definitely recommend going.

Fantastic tour - This was a fantastic day and made our trip to Cancun so much more enriched by learning about the Mayan culture and history of the area. I highly recommend getting the Mayan Astrological Chart done as a way to personally hook in to the incredible depth of knowledge and pov of the Mayan culture. Santos did a great job of interpreting and explaining the chart. The tour keeps you moving along pretty quickly and there is much to see and do. Its a pretty long stretch between breakfast and lunch so pack some snacks if you need to eat regularly - the wait for lunch is well worth it though. The food and the restaurant were wonderful too, be sure to explore into the back of the building and check out the gift store, we saw the best handicrafts there. Thanks Caesar, Santos and our driver for taking care of us so well - we loved the whole experience!

Viator - a TripAdvisor compancy - is not a viable partner for vacation planning. avoid at all cost. - Multiple points of failure. 1> Viator contracted this tour with a firm that went out of business before the tour occured. Viator apparently did insufficent research on the viability of their contracted partner 2> It was very difficult to get a viator representative on the line to assist in any way, and when we did, she wanted to give us a hard time about a list-minute cancellation as if anything about our situation was our choice. 3> Viator was completely unaware that their contracted partner had ceased operations. They were sending us emails to "get ready" for our excursion up to the night before, even though the contracted partner had ceased all operations 2 weeks earlier. 4> Because viator was blissfully unaware of the state of their contracted party, despite having 2 weeks to rebook with another contracted partner, or give us any advance notice, viator did nothing to prepare us. The first we learned of this was when the contracted partner failed to pick us up for our tour. We were very fortunate to be able to work with our resort (who had much more reliable contracted partners) to rearrange events for that day, so the only loss was 2-3 hours of waiting for a Viator partner that never showed, the time on the phone trying to contact the contracted partner (who not surprisingly never answered their phone), and the time spent booking vacation tours with a more reputable company. 5> although this whole mess clearly entitles us to a refund, and to compensation for our time and effort to sort out what viator should have already been on top of, viator has been less than forthcoming with any follow-up customer service, or refund.
