Private Chichen Itza with Kids is Worth it - We had a great private tour of Chichen Itza with David with our family of four, kids ages 6 & 9. David was wonderful! Friendly, informative, willing to adjust to our needs and answered all our questions. We picked this tour because a whole day out at other stops with the kids seemed like too much so doing Chichen Itza only in express tour was perfect. We all had a great time. Highly agree to what has been shard about leaving early. We got there shortly after it opened before the heat of the day and large crowds. It was well worth the early morning. David was even early for our pick up time. He also took great photos of our family while we were there. This was our first time with Kay Tours, and I would definitely use again.

Wonderful Day for All, Including 5 Kids - I was a bit hesitant to bring small children (ages 4 and 5) on an all-day excursion, but our driver and guide made the day phenomenal! We were two families (9 people total - 4 adults and 5 kids 13 and under) traveling together, and we booked a private tour to take us to Chichen Itza, then a hacienda for a buffet lunch and cenote swim, and lastly a colonial village for shopping. Our guide, Claudia, planned ample rest stops throughout the day and was very mindful of the kids' interest/endurance levels. She was extremely knowledgeable and gave us great insights into the melting pot of cultures that is Mexico. Her personal reflections on Dia de Los Muertos and its significance to her family were particularly moving. The highlight was, of course, Chichen Itza, which was spectacular. We got there ahead of the crowds and the hottest part of the day and felt our time there was well spent. Claudia narrated the entire site and then helped bargain for souvenirs and even carried our bags at one point! She took us to a great buffet restaurant, where the food outshined that of our resort, and, without prompting, took amazing photos and videos of us all in the cenote. We ended the trip admiring Spanish colonial architecture and eating ice cream in Valladolid. All in all, it was a great day, and we wouldn't change a thing. It was incredibly well-orchestrated, and we felt the heartfelt hospitality!

Best Tour Guide Ever!!! - We had the great fortune of having an absolutely brilliant and pleasant guide for out day long tour!! Betty Cortez made the adventure for us!! Not only did she have extensive knowledge of the sites, having an MA in Archaeology, but she was personable, confident and thoughtful about making adjustments to suit our needs.
We finished the day having learned so much about Mexican culture and history.
I can't say enough good things about our guide and the variety of sites we saw!!

A great day with Beatriz - Thank you for an amazing day! Beatriz was very knowledgeable and shared so much about Chichen Itza and also México more generally - answering all of our questions. She was very kind and great to spend the day with. We saw large buses and are so glad we did the private tour option. It is more expensive but worth the investment. We also loved being able to swim in the ceynotes and were lucky that both were very quiet when we visited, with only a dozen other people to swim with - not crowded at all. Thanks again!

Family visit - 6 adults - We had a great tour guide, Helios, and driver. There were six of us, three couples, Helios was very knowledgable and also very accommodating to our needs and wants. For example, while the tour Chichen Itza is about three hours, we could spend longer if we wanted. In fact, we spent two hours there because the heat and humidity was just so high and he did a great job of taking us around. This meant we got to the cenote early and had it practically to ourselves, which was so much fun. We had lunch at the buffet restaurant and spent a little bit of time in the city, walking around the square and visiting some small shops.

Great experience! Very safe, reliable and interesting! - This was such an amazing experience! Our guide, Alberto was very knowledgeable about the site and the history of Chichen Itza. It was an extremely hot and humid day but our guide was kind and took us to the shades between the sites, asking to hold our bags and umbrella and really doing the most. I would recommend to get an early start on the day since the crowds and the weather does increase over the duration of the day. We did a private express tour from Cancun. Our driver and tour guide was the same individual. I travelled with my sister. Knowing the typical stereotypes of travelling in Mexico, I wasn't sure what to expect. But, our guide made us both feel very safe and comfortable, especially as women. He was very respectful and even told us some interesting facts on our way to the site and back. There were a few options that our guide did mention for food/lunch, but we brought snacks of our own since the journey was quite long and we didn't want to make any additional stops. We reached back to the resort on time.
There are a couple packages Kay Tours offered, but I'm glad we stuck to the Express Tour because both of us really couldn't handle the heat.
We also wanted to pay the amount upfront and Kay Tours was able to offer us a separate payment link which we preferred doing.
If we ever visited Cancun again, we'd certainly go with Kay Tours.
On a different/side note, I have an older model of the iPhone and did buy a SIM card/chip but bear in mind that I still didn't have service at the Chichen Itza site (likely because it was in the jungle/boonies). Perhaps ask around if there is cellular reception available in that area.

Awesome Trip, Great Driver and Tour Guide - I highly recommend this tour group. They arrived early, not late like the larger bus tours that make you sit and wait for a bus that's always late! They are completely flexible, more time at Chitzen Itza, less at the Cenote, chose where to eat. We even stopped at a coffee shop on the way to Chitzen Itza. Cold sodas and beer were ready and waiting along with a lite snack at pick up. Charles the driver was excellent and Claudia was so knowledgeable about the the sites we toured. We had them join us at the table for lunch, they are that awesome. You are in control of time spent at each spot. We spent 2.5 hours at Chitzen Itza and then headed to Selva Maya for the buffet lunch which we highly recommend and the Cenote there is absolutely incredible. We then headed to Valladolid, a small town with some shops. We had already been in the hot sun enough and were there for 15 minutes. Total time with the 2.5 hour drive each way was 9 hours, not the 12 to 14 hours with a tour bus full of people. All expenses were paid, entry to everything, lunch, beer, sodas, toll road each way...everything, excluding the shots and beer we had waiting for the buffet to open at 11am. We will use this company again without a doubt!
