Equinox in Chichen Itza - Together with my wife we visited Chichen Itza on 22/03/2025 on private tour with this agency and it was the best option we could have taken. Fully recommended! They were very professional during all stages of the service. During the tour our guide Antonio and driver Joaquín Leonardo were the best, proactive, attentive and very friendly. Antonio is an expert in Mayan culture, he gave us a lot of detailed information about the culture and helped make our experience wonderful where we could also witness the magical moment of the descent of kukulkan. We also took transfer service from the airport to tulum with them and it worked perfect.

Superb discovery - A rewarding day with a passionate guide. Discover Mayan culture on this wonderful day. We loved this day, from visiting the Mayan ruins, to swimming in a cenote while discovering life with the locals.

Early Tour Definitely The Best Option - Amazing to see this wonder of the world up close. I came here as part of a tour group and went for the sunrise option. I definitely think we benefited from being one of the first groups on location as it wasn’t very busy and we were able to get a real wealth of information as well as captures with minimal interference or issue. The weather played it’s part in making it an amazing experience. We stayed for a couple of hours and by the time we were leaving around 1100 the entrance was packed as several tour groups were arriving. It made a big difference to be there for 0900 & I recommend finding a tour group that does sunrise tours and paying the extra to do so as it’s worth it.

$40 to get in plus, plus, plus...... - The ruins are spectacular. Mind-boggling the ancient mayans cut the limestone blocks WITHOUT metal tools. That said, my review is more about the exorbitant fees the Mexican government charges to see the ruins, along with the gauntlet of aggressive vendors. $40 to get in. Another $12 for the use of my Insta 360 camera. Another $4 to rent an umbrella for shade from the hot sun. $56? Are you kidding me? On top of all that, I got hit with a $42 charge from my bank when I got home for the currency conversion since I chose to use my card upon the advice of our tour guide. He said we would get a better exchange rate vs paying with US dollars. With the bank fee - not so much. Chichen-itza is amazing, but it's not $100 amazing. Overall - Mexico has the curious reputation of being "cheap" for US tourists. That was true maybe a decade ago, but it is definitely not true now. Mexico is every bit as expensive is not more so than the US.

Thanks, but no thanks - Ancient monument, famous for its stunning architecture, a pyramid that showcases the Maya's advanced knowledge of astronomy and engineering. The site is located approximately three hours from Cancun, making it a lengthy journey. While the tour guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and engaging, the hot and humid conditions may not be ideal, especially for traveling with children. Given the distance and the time commitment required to visit Chichen Itza from Cancun, some might prefer to spend the day at a resort instead. Relaxing with food, drinks, a waterpark, the beach, and other activities offers a more leisurely and family-friendly experience.

Completely overhyped - Yes, there’s a large structure (El Castillo) in the shape of a pyramid, and yes, there’s an echo when you clap at it, and yes, there’s a few other vaguely interesting old buildings around. Yes, there’s a bit of history and yes, they were good at maths. But honestly, unless you’re interested in buying some cheap tat from one of the various sellers or getting a few more Facebook likes, I wouldn’t bother wasting your time and money.
