Knowledgeable private driver to Yeso dam and Colinas hot springs - Julio is a knowledgeable private driver that took us to Yeso dam and Colinas hot springs. We departed at 630, a little earlier than the suggested 7, and it was well worth it to beat the traffic on the way and for better pictures. We were able to stop at any point for photo opportunities of the numerous waterfalls and scenic overlooks on the way. We passed San Jose fel Maipo on the way up because nothing was open. We stopped a little later at a local spot for empanadas and coffee breakfast before continuing to Yeso. We were given as much time as we wanted at Yeso before proceeding to Colinas. There again, we had as much time as we wanted. The normal group trip gives an hour at the hotsprings (which is just about as much as you need) but we were able to take more time on the private tour. On the way back we had an opportunity to stop by the chocolate house but we decided to skip it as it was absolute pandemonium with all the tourists. We did stop by Concha y Toro on our way back into Santiago and had an amazing time trying the wines and a good bite to eat at the restaurant. Julio was amazing in helping us with getting exactly where we wanted and stopping for any requests we had. Some of the trip is on narrow mountain roads which Julio handled very well in our large, comfortable all wheel drive SUV.
