Upon reaching the island, our journey leads us south to the seafaring village of Dalcahue. Here, we’ll take our time to immerse ourselves in the beauty and culture of this charming small fishing hub. You’ll gain extensive insight into the traditional lifestyle in Chiloe now and in the past years.
Our exploration carries on to Castro, Chiloe’s capital, where we get to see traditional palafitos (shore-hugging stilt houses) and explore the grand wooden church (acknowledged as a UNESCO World Heritage Site). We’ll wander around town and pause at the handicrafts market, adorned with wood and woolen items from the locality.
As the afternoon moves towards evening, we’ll make our way back to Puerto Varas via the eastern coastal route, catching sight of several small fishing villages on the way.
