Upon arrival, your tour guide will save you hassle by buying the tickets for you, then drive you to the foot of the Mutianyu Great Wall, instead of making you queue for the shuttle bus. Once you’ve ascended the Wall, see and climb the impressive defensive watch towers to take in the serene scenery of streams and lush greenery that surround this section of the Great Wall.

After climbing the Great Wall, you can come back to the “Mubus Family” to relax. Located in the center of the Mutianyu scenic area, it is a special lounge area only reserved for the Mubus travelers, offering them with a comfortable place to rest, a restaurant with local specialties, beer and coffee. When you have buffet lunch on the viewing platform, you will appreciate a very magnificent scenery by the intersection of the two sections of the Great Wall here, Mutianyu Great Wall and Jiankou Great Wall which’s well-known “steepest Great Wall of China”. Fantastic trip - This was an excellent excursion. Easy to meet up with Mubus rep, Tony, who texted beforehand to give exact location of meet in Beijing. It was then straight onto an air-conditioned comfortable bus for the trip to Mutianyu with Tony giving some background info on the Great Wall and then how to best enjoy the experience when you get there. Tony sorted out everyone's tickets for the cable car and chairlift access and advised on best route to walk. Then when we got there Mubus provided an excellent sit-down lunch (even beer was available) before we commenced the adventure. There was 5hr available for exploration (more than enough). I will definitely use Mubus again next time I am in Beijing. It really was an experience not to be missed. Thank you Tony.

Perfect way to spend a Beijing Layover - Zealand 6 Perfect way to spend a Beijing Layover Review of Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Daily Bus Tour with Options Reviewed 2 days ago I was looking for an enjoyable way to spend a 21 hour layover in Beijing. This tour was perfect. Getting from Beijing International Airport to the tour pick up at Dongzhimen Station was a doddle in the airport express. Fellow tour group members were already gathering which gave opportunities to chat. The English speaking tour leader (sho had already provided a mobile number in case of problems) shepherded us to the coach and once on board gave a thorough briefing on the Wall and what we could expect when we arrived, including advice on the walking routes and challenges. After the 90 minutes coach trip we arrived at a parking and shopping complex and were guided to the Mubus Centre. The Chinese buffet lunch was superb. Then we were free to make our own way by shuttle bus to the Wall and chose our own routes for walking on the Wall itself. I did the first part with a family I had met over lunch and later branched of on my own. In all, I had over two hours enjoying the extraordinary experience of this wonder of he world before finding my way back to the Mubus Centre for refreshing tea, chat with other tour group members and eventually the coach ride back to Dongzhimen with a different and very entertaining guide. The whole adventure filled around eight hours, provided plenty of fresh air and exercise and a remarkable 'bucket list' experience. I thoroughly recommend it for anyone with a long daytime Beijing layover or anyone visiting Beijing

Which route to take - Take the metro to meeting point as no hassle. There is a supermarket there for last minute cold drinks. Mubus well organised. The two routes on the wall can be deceiving as to waiting time. We took the tobogan route first in the morning on the 08:00 am tour and the queue time was 1,5 hrs from the point of entry the gated area and also 1 hr going down on tobogan which is so slow due to people stopping. I would take the other loop first form tower 14 to 20 stop for drinks at bottom toboggan and then take that one. Even though Mubus advised the other way around.

Absolutely Unmissable Great Wall Tour! - I’m writing this in the evening following a full day at the Great Wall, and wow, I cannot express how pleased I am with this tour. Identifying our guides and walking to the bus pickup from the subway station was very simple. The bus to the wall was around 1h30 and was comfortable and air conditioned. I was also very pleased to find out we were visiting the Mutianyu section of the wall which is less busy than the Badaling section that most people appear to visit. On the way there our guide explained we had a choice of walks on the Great Wall - the Western route, taking approx 2hrs with a cable car up and down; or the Eastern Route (approx 1h30) which was said to be much busier in the middle of the day but with a cable car up and toboggan(!) down. If you’re feeling particularly fit you can choose both routes. We chose the Eastern route but hung back a couple of hours at the Mubus centre for lunch and to wait for the crowds to pass. Once we departed the Mubus centre we took the shuttle bus (which runs every 5-10mins) to the cable car and took it up to the start point. I found the Eastern walk from gate 6 to gate 1 to be shorter than I thought, but the terrain is tough at times, can be steep, and you will need a moderate level of fitness to undertake the whole walk - especially when we went in the height of summer in 34 degree heat! I’m glad I made the effort to complete the walk though, as it was completely worth it. There are several incredible viewpoints you can take in or pose for photos during the walk. The best thing about this trip was the level of flexibility you get. You can choose to plan your time as you wish over the 5-6 hours you’re there. If you choose to do so, you have time to walk both the western and eastern sections of the wall. You meet back at the Mubus lounge whenever you’re done which offers air con, drinks and snacks. Overall we had such a great day, with really hospitable guides that explained everything so clearly and made the trip so easy for everyone. 10/10 thank you!

Happy with the tour, and the Wall is everything you hope - We had a really great day and enjoyed the wall immensely. The tour worked well. Our tour guide was friendly (but please walk a bit slower on the 300m walk from the meeting point in Beijing to the bus!) Other staff were helpful. The included lunch was very good. We were temporarily confused about how the included tickets to the shuttle bus and cable car worked. It is just a matter of swiping your passport, a common system in China but they don’t necessarily realize Westerners aren’t familiar with it. We’d recommend Mubus to others. And Mutianyu Great Wall itself? Spectacular beyond words.
