Great Pony Kayak Tour - We had a great tour with Bailey. We were able to see Riptide with several mares up close. We had a wonderful time.

Excellent Tour Guide - Bailey was an excellent guide! He was very knowledgeable. He purposefully ensured he spent time talking with each kayaker. He assisted kayakers who needed assistance. We were fortunate that the horses were at the beach. It was a highlight!

Great closeups of wildlife - We signed up for the 1:30 time slot and ended up getting a private tour led by Bailey who was very knowledgeable about the area and local wildlife. Unfortunately, we did not get to see any ponies because we arrived on the day before their big swim and they had already been rounded up. No worries, we got to see plenty of wildlife - oysters, crabs, and some great closeups of egrets, pelicans, and a skimmer. After the tour we crossed the bridge to Assateague national park and were able to see the ponies in the corral, waiting to make the swim to Chincoteague the next day. We were fortunate to get a close up view which we would not have been able to do had we tried to go to the actual swim event the next day. I highly recommend this tour. Bailey accommodates all levels of kayaking abilities.

Serene paddling among the wildlife including ponies up close! - Knowledgeable and pleasant guide, Bailey. Saw lots of wildlife. Great trip and even saw lots of ponies up close. Went in the morning before it got too hot, by end of trip we were glad we did. Will go again when I am in the area. (Posted photos separately.)

Get in the sea weeds! - We had a wonderful time on our kayaking adventure. Smooth waters, great guide and beautiful sights! There was plenty to see and the two hours flew by so fast.

Kayaking - We had such a great time kayaking! Our guide, Adam was nice and very knowledgeable about the area. This tour was great for my family as most of us had little to no experience kayaking.

More strenuous than we thought - It was a nice day, but it was lots of paddling, and we are not seasoned kayakers. We weren’t aware we couldn’t see the ponies because they were penned; little wildlife to see that day.

No Ponies and Unsafe - While I understand there are inherent risks to kayaking and I did indeed sign the waiver and agree to it, the pictures and descriptions are misleading. You have to kayak from chincoteague to assateague and we did not go near the horses or see them which was the point of the adventure. We were never briefed otherwise. We were at the meet up point 15 minutes prior as asked, and were left without being contacted. The water was extremely choppy and difficult to navigate though both of us are in decent physical condition. I do not know how someone that is not young or extremely fit and active could navigate the waters we experienced. However, we received no safety briefing and were not asked about our age, physical conditions, kayaking experience, or briefed on water conditions for us to make our own personal assessment. I understand weather changes, but the water was rough and choppy before we entered. We did not make it back until it was 8:45pm and very dark while we were practically at a stand still fighting the current. Being on the bay/ocean in a kayak with choppy waters at night is not only frightening, it is irresponsible at best considering we did not know the conditions, and our guides did not know our capabilities. The guides did not have a flare, or a radio so in the event we tipped and were taken by the current, I am unsure of how we would have been found. We asked several times if there was a spot we could bail out to avoid fighting the current up stream, across, and back down in the darkness, and just go straight across towards some condos, but it fell upon deaf ears. Most families (notably those with younger or older people) would not be able to join this tour due to the nature of it. This is certainly not to bash or tear down the company, solely to bring awareness and hopefully create some positive change.
