The 50-year ghost - Having arrived at my Paphos hotel at 9 p.m. on arrival, at 7.45 the next morning I was picked up and taken on an 11.5-hour trip diagonally across the island. The ghost city of Varosi was astounding, a resort unused for 50 years and with hotels still damaged from the conflict, the ghost village we passed scarcely less so. Salamis and Famagusta were both very interesting. Vassos our guide was impressively well-informed and gave us the context from a Greek Cypriot viewpoint. My only problem was that the rest of week was less interesting.

Long day, but well paced - The guide was extremely knowledgeable, there were regular stops to break up the long journey to Famagusta. We went to the site of ancient Salamis which was a highlight for me. Getting through the checkpoint was time consuming. I felt it was worth the inconvenience for the day we had - but be aware that it is a long day however well paced.

Beautiful tour - We had a good tour guide, excellent experience, saw beautiful places and the lost city which was really sad. Yeah, great ride and food good too.

A step back into Cyprus’s past, both recent and anxient - The most amazing trip across the length of the island and into the de facto Turkish part. Amazing sights of ancient history, notably Salamis, and not so great sights of more recent history in the abandoned town of Varosha. So sad to witness, but important all the same in understanding Cyprus’s past. Vassos, our guide has a wealth of knowledge which we all benefitted from. Fitos did a brilliant job of getting the rather large coach through seemingly impossible gaps. Very well done to both A very full day, but worth every minute, from 7.30 in the morning to nearly 8 in the evening.

Highly recommend going on the tour - Had a long but excellent day trip to Famagusta. The closed town was a real eye opener and is difficult to understand everything is as it was 50 years ago, except there are no people and lots of buildings are in a real bad state or collapsing.

The ghost city of... - The ghost city of Famagusta is a must see, it's like seaside Chernobyl without the radiation. The guide was very knowledgeable and informative.

Very long but worthwhile day - Excellent tour and very informative. Second time we’ve taken this trip and there are still things to learn. Be prepared for a very long day but so worth it. Have recommended this to other people and they have already booked to go. Definitely worth while. Varosi (the ghost town) really focuses the mind on recent conflicts/ history.

A must-do trip! - Absolutely brilliant trip, I forgot the driver's name, but both the driver and guide, Vasos, we're friendly and welcoming. Very detailed tour with lots of information. Vasos was very good with the timings and itinerary, being very clear on how long we were visiting a particular spot and how long until the next spot. So much knowledge provided on each site. A long day - but definitely worth it.

12 long hours - A 12hr long excursion to see the ghost town at the very end for a rushed 30mins !! Never again.. I have visited this with another tour provider and had a very lovely experience but this one was not great, whilst the tour guide was knowledgeable there was never anytime to explore on our own and just take the experience in .
