Everglades Area Tours has been providing educational excursions since the 1990s. Our guides are professionally trained, full-time Florida Master Naturalists with significantly more experience than others. Although Everglades National Park is a wilderness with truly wild wildlife, our decades of experience offer the best chances to find, observe, and photograph these creatures. We are the “Quiet Alternative to an Airboat Ride.” Airboats are prohibited in the Park where we conduct our tours.

Note: From June through October, we recommend morning tours due to weather conditions.

Wonderful substitute trip - This trip was cancelled at the last minute the morning of as the captain had an injury. We just hope it wasn’t bad. But we were offered another 2 hour trip that morning an hour later out of Marco Island which we took. It was wonderful. The ecology of the fresh water of the Everglades mixing with the salt water from the Gulf of Mexico was explained and was fascinating. We were taken to an uninhabited sand island to shell. Most of the island was roped off as it is nesting season, but the flocks of Royal Terns and Black Skimmers gathering there were just gorgeous. And the shelling was wonderful. Highly recommend this trip.

Loved it - I really loved this trip. It was such a peaceful and calm afternoon. Relaxing and fun at the same time. We saw dolphins and many birds and we learned quite a bit about the history of the area as well.

Unforgettable wildlife experience - Our guide, Ray, was very knowledgeable, and knew all of the right tricks to get close-ups of the dolphins. There was also plentiful bird sightings on the boat trip, including Ospreys, Bald Eagles, Pelicans, Cormorants, Terns, and more. It was definitely worth my time!

Lovely small group tour of the Everglades - Lovely boat trip with Dan our guide who was very experienced. Only four of us on the trip - boat was very comfortable. Highlight was definitely the dolphins surfing behind and alongside the boat - so so close. Briliiant. Also saw some other lovely birdlife - ospreys, hornbill, giant heron. Very enjoyable two hours. Start of the trip was outside a closed cafe/restaurant but there was a fabulous cafe round the corner - Havannas - great coffee, fab food and live music when we had lunch there after our tour ended.

Peaceful but a bit dissappointing - We got to see a swallow tail kite nest with the baby bird in it. The trip was peaceful, but the guide was non stop talking about himself. We didn’t see much in terms of wildlife.

Not worth the price. - Not what we were expecting. For one thing, we didn’t know that it was salt water. The tour is way overpriced at $120 per person. The things we were expecting to see in the Everglades is not what we saw. Our guide gave us some history of the area and the rating is not because of him. If the time of the year or the time of the day is the reason for not seeing more wild life then you shouldn’t sell tickets for those times. We did have a good show with the Dolphins but again not worth the price. We’ve already seen lots of dolphins.
