Chongqing-Wulong (200km/3 hours driving)

Chongqing - We pick up our travelers at their hotel and begin our journey from downtown Chongqing.

The drive will take 3 hours, with a quick lunch at a highway rest area to save time. We’ll make a few stops at highway rest areas for breaks and lunch until we reach our destination, Dongchuan, a stunning area covered with vast red soil.

Wulong Tiankeng Three Bridges - Next, we head to Tiankeng (a giant sinkhole, also known as the natural triple bridge), the main attraction of Wulong Karst Geological National Park. This grand valley features three ridges with naturally formed sinkholes that resemble three huge bridges. It is the only site in the park listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

We’ll first take an 80-meter-high cliffside viewing elevator to descend to the bottom. Then, we’ll embark on a hiking tour through the giant sinkhole, connecting all scenic spots, including movie scenes from Transformer IV. The highlight is the unique and magnificent natural landscape.

The hike takes approximately 2 hours and is of moderate intensity.

Dazu County - After the excursion, we’ll take a shuttle bus back to the tourist center, then drive our own car back to downtown Chongqing, a 200 km/3-hour ride. We’ll drop our clients off at their hotel.

Dazu Ancient Rock Carvings-Downtown Chongqing

The Dazu Rock Carvings - We’ll start from downtown at 8:30 am and arrive at our first destination, Beishan (North Mountain) carvings, after a 1.5-hour ride.

This is the oldest carving site in Dazu, miraculously well-preserved despite a thousand years of wars and destructive activities. Hidden in a pastoral forest near downtown Dazu, it offers a peaceful, historic, and idyllic excursion without crowds, as most large groups avoid it due to higher travel agent costs and lack of trained guides.

Next, we’ll show our clients another exclusive site: a pair of twin giant Buddha statues and an ancient pagoda adjacent to Beishan. These 900-year-old structures are incredibly well-preserved. We’ll explore the area, learn the history, and enjoy the lovely country fresh air.

The Dazu Rock Carvings - For lunch, we’ll enjoy fresh and unique country cuisine at a local village restaurant. It may not be fancy, but it’s tasty and fresh.

In the afternoon, travelers have the option to visit more of the Beishan Carvings. If so, we recommend purchasing a combined ticket covering both Baoding and Beishan from the start. Our transportation and guiding service will be free for this option.

Baoding Mountain Carved Stone - After lunch, we’ll visit the Baoding Ancient Rock Carvings, the largest and most impressive carving site in Dazu.

Dating back 900 years, the Baoding carvings are the largest and best-preserved ancient stone sculptures and the most renowned Buddhist holy site in southern China. In 1999, Baoding Carvings were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

These statues were engraved on cliff sides to facilitate display and worship. They represent the pinnacle of ancient Chinese artistic and sculptural craftsmanship.

We’ll take an immersive learning tour with our private guiding service. The excursion inside takes 2 hours. All travelers must transfer to the internal shuttle bus and golf cart, which is mandatory for cultural relics preservation.

A combined ticket covering both Beishan and Baoding costs 150 yuan per adult.

Jiefangbei Square - Finally, we’ll drive back to downtown Chongqing, delivering our travelers to their hotels or any specified location in downtown. This ride will take 90 minutes and cover 100 km.
