- Laojundong Taoist Temple - Situated on Laojun Mountain near Huangjueya in Nanshan Subdistrict, Nanan District, Chongqing, the Laojundong Taoist Temple spans 223 acres. Originally constructed during the Tang Dynasty, it was rebuilt and expanded in the 16th year of the Chenghua period of the Ming Dynasty (1480) and renamed Taiji Palace, also known as Laojun Cave. The temple is integrated into the mountainside, showcasing grand and majestic architecture. Initially called Tushan Ancient Cave, it is also referred to as Taiji Palace and is recognized as one of China’s significant Taoist temples, earning the title “The First Taoist Temple in Eastern Sichuan.” Today, tourists are captivated by the breathtaking views and fascinating Taoist culture, reflecting Chinese perspectives on health, mortality, and tranquil lifestyles.
- Jiefangbei Square - Guests will be picked up from their hotels around 09:30, followed by a one-hour drive to the first attraction.
- Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications - Visitors will head to the main street to enjoy a local noodle dish for a quick lunch. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience local dining culture and test your spice tolerance with your local guide! The lunch costs are included in your day tour fee. Xiaomian, a local spicy noodle dish, is a popular street food highly recommended by locals. Please inform your guide of any dietary requirements before trying it.
- Laolongdong Scenic Area - Located in Banan District, Chongqing, the Old Dragon Cave is a natural limestone cave and a key feature of the Karst landscape. The cave extends for several kilometers, with some areas still unexplored, offering visitors a kayaking adventure over a distance of at least 800 meters. Inside, the stalactites and stone formations, which have developed over millions of years, are exquisite and lifelike. The Yinhe Spring flows through the cave, providing scenic views and thrilling exploration, making it an excellent destination for leisure and sightseeing.
- Longmenhao Old Street - Situated in the heart of Chongqing’s main urban district along the middle section of Nanbin Road, Longmenhao Old Street covers over 300 acres (approximately 180,000 square meters). With a history spanning over a thousand years, the area boasts numerous historical remains. The historical and cultural district features more than 200 buildings from various periods, including 18 exceptional historical heritage buildings. The old street is also home to one of the “Twelve Sceneries of Ancient Bayu”—the “Longmenhao Moon,” a spot admired and praised by countless scholars and poets. Due to its stunning nightscape and prime location across the river from the Yuzhong Peninsula, Longmenhao Old Street was included in the second batch of proposed night-time cultural and tourism consumption zones for Chongqing in April 2022.
