Ancient - Ciqikou is a very old part of Chongqing, it is very ancient but lively. I thing it is older than Chongqing is . The are I seen was like an alleyway lined with vendors mostly selling many different Chinese foods. It should be on your list of things to tour if you get the chance. I was there in April of 2005

Interesting old town. - This is a place one should visit when you are in Chongqing. It used to be better. With some refurbishment, the roads are better but many shops have disappeared. Now, many shops sell the same stuff - peanuts & sesame candies & also their special "Ma Lak" chillies. It would be good if there is a control as to the number of shops selling the same things. My friends & I always enjoy seeing how the peanuts & sesame Candies, and the special "chilly blocks" are made. These are the spices where you can do your own Hot-Pot at home. An interest place to visit to see the Art & Craft industry too!
