Fun and delicious way to learn about Barbados! - This was a fun and delicious experience. Our chef was well trained and had us making Bajun food quickly and easily. Our Flying Fish and Cou Cou was incredible, our rum punch so perfect, and our Cassava Pone interesting and a great end to our meal. We made our food in their home kitchen. It felt welcoming and intimate. We took home our recipes and have made the punch and pone and had rave reviews for both. Don’t hesitate to experience this class if you love to cook, eat, and learn about Barbados.

Immerse yourself with this class! - We had such a fun time cooking with Danica today. We started off making authentic rum punch, and put it in the freezer to chill. Then we prepared a pone with cassaba and coconut and popped it into the oven to bake. Next was flying fish and cou cou, using delicious herbs and other ingredients to make a marinade and sauce. Plus a pickle side dish! Danica was an excellent teacher and was also great in assigning tasks to each of us. We had lunch together, drank our chilled rum punch, then finished off the meal with our “fresh out of the oven” pone. It was a completely different dessert than any of us had ever tasted — it was so good! Thank you Kareen and Danica for an excellent experience.

Truly local cooking - The host and cook went above expectations for us. We wanted to try a vegetarian dish, and they went so far as to find bread fruit in a neighbor's tree, because it was not the season to find it in the store. The kitchen was spotless, much cleaner than mine. We cooked more lamb then we could possibly eat, yummy 😋.

So much fun! - Such a fun day! Food was delicious and they had us involved in every step of the process. Danica was an excellent chef instructor, made the class fun and approachable. Went home with pictures and recipes! They were great about making sure we got back to our cruise ship in good time as well, arranging transportation and choosing recipes that matched with the amount of time we had.

Bajan Cooking Class -January 2022 - Excellent tour to Karen’s house for a cooking class with Danica. We prepared a rum punch, then made fish cakes followed by roiled flying fish cou cou (similar to polenta) with sauce

Amazing!!!! - This was a REALLY great experience and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Barbados! Kareen and Jerone were amazing hosts and thought us to cook the national dish but above all, they immediately made us feel welcomed and comfortable - you could tell they had a passion for giving us the best experience possible. They possess a lot of knowledge about Barbados and food in general, so we learnt a lot to be honest and will definitely be back during our next visit!! Thanks, M & NdS

Delicious and Fun Bajan Cooking Experience - This is perfect for a small group who wants to learn about Bajan cooking and more. It started off with a great ride that they arranged for us. We learned all about Barbados culture, history and life on the way to the class. The class was an intimate setting and much fun. We all participated to the level we wanted to and came to enjoy the fruits of our labor. Would highly reccomend the experience. Chef Jermone was our special teacher. Ask for him.

A great Bajan cooking lesson - Thoroughly recommended if you want a authentic Bajan cooking class. Cooked a very special starter using Blowfish followed by a main course Salted Cod and Cou Cou. Lots of cooking tips and cultural context delivered in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Well worth the trip. Andrew, Chris and Charlie

Barbados cooking class - The class was ok. Chef very personable. Problem was the menu. We were not told in advance what it was so was surprised that it consisted of hot pigtail soup ( it was steaming in Barbados at the time) and cod fritters. It would have been nice to choose from a menu of options in advance. We learned to make authentic rum punch which was enjoyable. Another problem is it was held in a person’s home and air conditioner wasn’t on. Portable fans provided but it only helped a little. Lastly we were promised recipes as follow up but not received. It’s a good idea in principle but needs more work. Cost of $250 a couple not really worth it. Wouldn’t recommend until some of the kinks worked out
