- Taylors Mistake - Awaroa / Godley Head Walk - Your guide will pick you up from your hotel and transport you to Taylors Mistake Beach, a beautiful black sand surf beach, with quaint little baches. - Taylors Mistake - Awaroa / Godley Head Walk - Your guide will pick you up from your hotel and transport you to Taylors Mistake Beach, a beautiful black sand surf beach, with quaint little baches. There will be an opportunity to pick up hot drinks-to-go on the way. The drive is approximately 30 minutes. On arrival your guide will hand out backpacks, walking poles, water bottles, snacks, and prepare you for the walk.
- Godley Head - The next 2.5 hours will be spent walking around Godley Head Loop Track, undoubtedly one of Christchurch’s most beautiful hikes. The track is undulating and well-maintained. Sights include Scott’s Hutt (an Antarctic Cabin), WW2 Gun emplacements, a penguin colony, and coastal views in all directions. You will return to Taylors Mistake with wonderful photos and memories of a great walk.

Godley Head is a beautiful coastal track with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and also Lyttelton Harbour. It includes historic landmarks from WW2, an Antarctic cabin, and quaint little beaches to boot. The loop track is 8km / 5 miles and takes around 2.5 hours to walk, including a rest stop.
If you are short on time, this half-day guided walk is a great option. Both morning and afternoon walks are available, see the highlights and be back in Christchurch in time for lunch or dinner.

Awesome tour, well worth it. - The walk tour was amazing and beautiful scenery, although it was a very hot day, it was still well worth the walk.

Stunning views and an incredible guide! - If you’re looking for a fantastic day out, this walk is definitely one to consider. The views are absolutely stunning from start to finish, and Nicole was an incredible guide—knowledgeable, friendly, and a great driver! She even brought along plenty of delicious snacks for us to enjoy!😋

A group tour that felt like a private tour experience! - This review is way overdue but so well deserved.
This family run business is top notch!
Communication before the trip and transportation were smooth. From the walking sticks, small snack and souvenir water bottles, they thought of everything so we were prepared for the hike.
The hike itself had a little of everything too, great views, changing landscape, inclines, grazing sheep and winding paths on the crater rim. Our guides were super friendly, sharing their immense knowledge and experiences along the way. Our pace was just right, not rushed or stalled with plenty of photo opportunities.
Afterwards, we were dropped off in Christchurch with plenty of time to eat and do some shopping.
This is a great way to maximize your one day in Lyttelton/Christchurch

Fantastic, when I think of NZ, this fits the bill! - Thoroughly enjoyed our walk this morning with Nicole. Highly organised and went above and beyond with our booking.
It’s obvious you love where you live, sharing a wealth of knowledge on the area.
Fantastic scenery throughout the walk with a lovely ‘second breakfast-lunch’ on Boulder beach, we were spoilt.
We have some beautiful memories and photos to remember the day by.

Spectacular, educational, personal and caring. - We had an amazing time as our guide recounted much historical information while driving through areas on the way to the Crater Rim Walk. Then, as we walked and continuously enjoyed stunning views, we again learned more engaging stories.
We are grateful for the care, attention and generosity provided.

Loved the views and the info. - First class outing. Nicole was knowledgeable and being local to the area, knew a lot about the city, geography and native birds. Most importantly the walk had many amazing views! The outing is customizable and can adjust to many fitness levels.

Beautiful views and terrific guide! - Heidi was a fabulous guide for our stunning walk along the Godley Head Loop Track. She brought us a delicious picnic lunch that we enjoyed near the summit, and pointed out many interesting sights and geological features along the way. This was the perfect start to our two weeks in New Zealand!

Highly Recommended Half Day Walking Experience - My half day trek around part of the Banks Peninsula was a great experience. I did this with two other ladies. Our guide was Nicole, and we were all so impressed with her knowledge of the area and the history. I would highly recommend exploring this extinct volcanic coastline to everyone visiting Christchurch. The scenery is stunning and a photographer's delight. Parts of the track are sometimes steep, but Nicole encouraged us to pace ourselves to walk comfortably. If I return to Christchurch, I'll be doing this again! I love my souvenir water bottle, and the little treats she had for us were delish! Thanks so much to Nicole who is a first class guide, with an obvious passion for this beautiful part of New Zealand.

A very nice half day hike. - Heidi was quite knowledgeable about the Banks peninsula and an avid outdoors person who knew where to lead our walk to avoid the high winds on our half day crater rim walk. All in all a pleasant way to spend our one day in Christchurch.
