Highlight! - This was a highlight for our family while visiting Christchurch. Great price for a family activity. Relaxed atmosphere with knowledgeable and friendly staff. The entry with giant screens and video sets the tone for what you will learn. The penguin sighting is so cool. You are able to see them in all their glory sleeping, swimming, playing at the top! The storm room and 4D movie are AMAZING!!! Do not miss either of these things. There were 3/8 huskies there to pat and learn about. They were so calm and gorgeous dogs.

Fun exerience - We enjoyed the Antarctic Centre. Spent about 3 hours there and found it had a good mix of information and hands on activities. The Storm Room and the huggaland ride were big hits with the kids.

Awesome Adventure - The Antarctic Center was a wonderful addition to our trip to New Zealand. Eleven of us ventured in to enjoy about 3 hours of fun. The 4D movie was great, made u feel as if you were actually on the adventure. The huskies were friendly. We ventured into the storm room that featured a simulated storm in the Antarctic. That was pretty cool. After the storm we took a ride in a Hagglund and then made our way to watch the little blue penguins be fed. All the artifacts and the history of the Antarctic were well presented. All in all it was a wonderful adventure for kids and adults alike.

Fab. Highly recommend - We did the penguin tour. A group of 6. I think twice a day. So book before you go. Loved it. The guide was informative interesting and totally committed. Lots of information. Well worth the extra fee. We did the all terrain vehicle ride. Great fun though I get motion sick so was glad to exit. It is only 10 minutes or so. So don’t let me put anyone off. I get motion sick very easily. The penguin feeding was fascinating and again informative. The huskies were super cute. And very patient. Patting allowed. We didn’t do the 4 D theatre due to the whole motion sickness thing. Cafe. As we were there from 12.00 to 4.30 we had some wedges and fish and chips at the cafe. They were ok rather than spectacular. U may want to say hold the salt if salt bugs you. However the food was hot and freshly cooked. The cafe was clean and tidy and the staff were helpful

Really nice Antarctica exhibition - Really good experience at Antarctica International exhibition. The haggard vehicle ride is quite realistic with rough terrain to encounter. Also, the cold and wind experience area was very realistic of what it would be like on Antarctica during a wind storm. Would recommend as a short experience exhibition.

A great all-round experience - I went with my children (aged 7 & 9) and they're still talking about it. Highlights were the Hagglund ride, snowstorm simulation and huskies. My daughter rated this as her favourite thing from our trip to NZ as she wasn't expecting to be able to pat the huskies. They were very calm and we spent about 20 minutes with them, patting them and conversing with their handler/trainer, Joe. There is a lot of information you could read and interact with - depending on interest level.

Waste of money and very outdated - The tour guide was literally falling asleep as he walked us around - and smelt quite strong of body odor. The penguin tank was closed because they had put too much chlorine in that day so the penguins couldn’t swim. So we could only see a stuffed penguin and listen to the sleepy man tell stories about the penguins that we couldn’t see. The whole place felt very outdated and tired. We couldn’t wait to leave. The only reason we gave this 2 stars instead of 1 was because we enjoyed the huskies and listening to the man who talked about them.
